I'm really trying to find a book that my mom read to us (my sister and I) when we were kids. It's an old picture book, like the floppy kid books like Berenstein Bears type floppy picture book.

The ONLY thing I remember about the book is a spooky building with a spooky dark wooded backdrop with "NOOOOO" "NOOOO" plastered across the picture, and it said "No no, don't go through that door". I have vague recollection that the main character was old drawn like sunday morning cartoon shape and drawing technique (I THINK).

I've tried googling the phrase, and just can't come up with anything. I'd love to find this book, please help with suggestions of book titles that I can google to see if it matches my memory!

The book has to be pre- 1990, probably a 1970s or 1980s publishing date from what I can remember.

"old drawn drawing technique" makes James Stevenson's That Terrible Halloween Night pop into my head, but I don't have a copy on hand. There's a person reading it on YouTube, and there is a spot where the kids yell, "No! No! Don't go in!", but I don't think the Nooooo is plastered across the picture. (It's hard to tell because the youtube version isn't just someone holding up the book.) So probably not, but I thought it'd be worth a try.
