I 've started, but just barely. Looking forward to getting deeper into this story.
Eli is lamenting his marriage to his wife and regretting not spending more time with his grandmother. I think this is a common lament among many people. After its too late people realize they should have spent more time with a parent, a grandparent, wife, husband, child, friend, whomever.

Maybe let me know how far you have read when commenting so I don't give anything away that happens further than you've read.

I think some of the book will be us discovering how Lindsay was killed, Eli reconnecting with his grandmother and Eli developing a relationship with the housekeeper/yoga teacher.

I think some of the book will be us discovering how Lindsay was killed, E..."
Take your time. We'll just discuss as we can. Hope you feel better. I agree that we will eventually find out about Lindsay and of course his relationship with Abra. I think we'll find him getting closer to his family also.

Lots happened since I was in chapter 2! I like the friendship Abra has developed with Maureen and Mike. I'm glad she had somewhere to go when she was attacked. She was so brave!
I'm guessing whoever killed the investigator killed Eli's wife and maybe is looking for the treasure. I suspect that same person hurt Eli's grandmother but I don't know who it is yet.
I like that Roberts is slowly building the relationship and attraction between Eli & Abra. I'm looking forward to reading more.

I'm trying to figure out who Lindsay's killer was and I agree that it's the same person that killed the investigator. I'm really enjoying Abra and Eli's relationship growing. I really like Maureen and Mike also. I'm listening to the audio and it's so good. This narrator does not only male voices but he also is really good with female voices. I'm sure this is going to get better as the killer feels more threatened. And I keep wondering what is this treasure? Will it tell us more about the killer?

I'm glad Eli is getting a chance to write his book. I hope it's a big success.
Learning about the secret passageways was really neat. I suspect it's how they are going to catch him. So him is ... Violet's son?
He used Eli's wife to try to get to the treasure. That's sad. Do you think there is a treasure?
That cop who is trying to pin the murder on Eli is a bit of an ass.
I can't wait to see how this ends! Almost finished

I loved the trap. Since I had the audio, it was so vivid when everything was happening. I felt like I was there too. I wondered about the ending too. I loved how she left it up to the reader to decide where the rest of the treasure is, if there is any left.
Another great Roberts book. Can't believe I had it so long and never read it. I love the Nora Roberts group. Each month is a new buddy read of her books. Really enjoyed reading this one together.
Synopsis:

A Boston lawyer, Eli has weathered an intense year of public scrutiny and police investigations after being accused of—but never arrested for—the murder of his soon-to-be-ex wife.
He finds sanctuary at Bluff House, even though his beloved grandmother is in Boston recuperating from a nasty fall. Abra Walsh is always there, though. Whiskey Beach’s resident housekeeper, yoga instructor, jewelry maker, and massage therapist, Abra is a woman of many talents—including helping Eli take control of his life and clear his name. But as they become entangled in each other, they find themselves caught in a net that stretches back for centuries—one that has ensnared a man intent on reaping the rewards of destroying Eli Landon once and for all…
