Barbara | 510 comments I don't really have a handle on the details, but apparently this is huge on social media right now. Steven Crowder, a young conservative comedian/commentator/podcaster was with a streaming service that was taken over by The Blaze and is apparently might be leaving The Blaze. He was offered a contract by conservative author and commentator Ben Shapiro's company, The Daily Wire and Crowder began airing issues with what he sees as a restrictive and one-sided contract. He didn't say it was with Daily Wire at first, but it came out and now the Wire is putting out their side Apparently, Crowder also recorded some phone conversations with the Daily Wire's lawyer.
The two of them used to be friends years ago and appeared together.
Like I said, I don't understand all of the ins and outs of the contract issue, but seems its all over social media right now.

J. Gowin | 7975 comments I've seen a bit of the grandstanding. My sense is that Shapiro and company saw that Crowder had left the Blaze, and decided to float an offer. When their initial offer was a low-ball, Crowder decided to have a public hissy fit.

In short, Shapiro is a cheap-skate and Crowder is a drama queen.
