What parallels can you draw between Cinder and the Cinderella fairy tale?
Actually, there are a lot of subtle parallels that can be drawn. For example, the Cinderella story originated from China, and Cinder lives in the future version of what was China. Also, Cinder's car represents her pumpkin carriage and is at one point literally described as looking like a pumpkin (I don't remember the wording!). There are more that I can't think of off the top of my head.
The cyborg foot falling off as she tried to flee the ball. Iko is sort of like the mice that helped.
Cinder doesn't tell the prince what she really is which causes conflict just like when Cinderella doesn't tell the prince her name at the ball.
Nothing except the wicked step sisters (and Peony wasn't actually wicked, she was actually nice) the horrible adopted/step mom, the prince, the ball.. The name Cinder and (view spoiler) beyond that... I didn't see ANYTHING that resembled the story of my childhood... Kind of disappointed.
