ǫuitterie ✧☽ hi !! so I'm very confused because I can't seem to find people who agree on when to read TAB when reading the throne of glass series, so I figured I would ask yall :)
thank you in advance for responding, it would truly help me <3

jada ☾ I personally read it first and was very happy that I did because I got a lot of backstory, and got to see characters you meet later on in the series. Regardess, I think it should read either first or second.

Sanne heyy, it truly doesn't really matter when you read it! It's a prequel and you don't need the information to understand anything in the stories. Of course, it does help if you have the background story of everything when something happens and they refer to something happened earlier (and probably in TaB). I would recommend to at least read it before Heir of Fire. Personally, I read it last (because I didn't own the book yet) and I didn't mind at all. I know this probably isn't the answer you were looking for. But please just do whatever you want. Wether you read it first, second, third or last. Have fun reading the best series ever! <3

Eleanor Lawler I read it after Heir of Fire and really liked how it fit there. It introduced characters in Queen of Shadows and personally it makes most sense (after reading the whole series) to read it then.

Jess L N I read it after Heir of Fire, and it was the perfect time IMO. At that point, I really knew Celaena, and it was cool as heck to go back into her story and revisit all the experiences that she alludes to throughout the first three books. It also is written in shorter novelettes, and that was a great way to break up the series.

A - slambooks I read it first and I think it added so much to the story and made me understand why she reacted to certain things in a certain way. It made me less angry at her and IMO it made her more likeable. I think that certain things that happen and how she reacts to them would have completely turned me off from her as a character but having background helped.

Jennifer ✨ definitely before the last book

but I read it after the second book
