René continues to keep Evan captive until he can give him the codes to access his bank accounts. Did this make sense to you at the time or was the possibility of another motive ever a consideration?

I didn't get the reason Rene wanted to keep Evan alive. It seemed a little far fetched, but after I thought about it a little I understood. If he killed Evan before the bank opened, he wouldn't have any way to get the money. I never thought that he would let Evan live.

[Charlene]

I didn't think of a second motive, after the practicalities, but I did not expect that Rene planned to allow Evan to live, either.

Could René have been planning to use Evan as a "donor" for his blood program? He'd have to keep him alive for that.

I figured that once Evan 'gave' the money René would have him killed. I also thought René thought he was smarter than anyone and didn't think that Evan would be capable of getting away.
