Join us in reading this HR that features the theme paranormal. Happy reading!

Synopsis:

From USA Today Bestseller Wendy Vella comes an exciting Regency series about legend, love and destiny, with a hint of magic ...
Legend says the Sinclairs heightened senses are a result of a long ago pact between them and the powerful Raven family. To Honor and Protect is their creed, but the current Duke of Raven doesn't make their task easy. Arrogant and aloof, James, Duke of Raven, is determined to forge his own path and to hell with folk tales that his ancestors created. But when the breathtaking Eden Sinclair saves his life by risking her own, their past resurfaces, and with it comes the uncomfortable realization that they are linked by more than history. Eden is forced to see the man behind the cool, haughty facade when she must use her special abilities to keep him safe. His suspicion of her soon turns into something else, something far more dangerous. Eden is torn between duty and self-protection. Does she have the strength to fight fate, in order to protect her own heart?

Lauren | 1370 comments I'm looking forward to rereading this book. I want to continue the series. I hope everybody else enjoys this book!

Mariana | 2692 comments I am definitely planning to join in and read this one.

Lauren | 1370 comments I'm starting my reread of this book today.

message 5: by Lorien (new)

Lorien | 427 comments I've started this one, I liked the beginning, but I feel like I'm missing something. Is this part of a larger series?

message 6: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 1370 comments very much so

message 7: by Mariana (new)

Mariana | 2692 comments It is listed a Sinclair and Raven #1. Is it a spinoff series?

message 8: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 1370 comments Yes. I've only read book 1, though

message 9: by Mariana (new)

Mariana | 2692 comments I about a fourth of the way through. Raven is a jerk! I'm sure he has reason to be, but his only redeeming quality for me at this point is his love of his sister. Eden and all her siblings are wonderful! She deserves better.

message 10: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 1370 comments I don't remember him being a**hole, but it's been 3 years, so it's hard to remember. I'm splitting my time with three books, so it's taking me longer than normally. I hope he improves!

How many siblings does the h have?

Let's see...she has two older brothers, a sister making her debut with her, younger twins, and a younger brother, so six siblings!

message 12: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 1370 comments So it aleast counts for bingo ;)

message 13: by Mariana (new)

Mariana | 2692 comments That's true!

Don't get me wrong. I am enjoying the story and the writing. Heroes who are selfish, overly proud, want to use women for their own sexual needs, and won't admit love just aren't my personal favorite.

message 14: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 1370 comments Mariana, you're right! James is definitely an insufferable prig. I'm hoping the Sinclairs have a positive effect on him.

I'm still trying to figure out all their powers

🐝 Shaz 🐝 | 1215 comments I have just got this book, so will join in a few days. After I have finished the series I am reading.

message 16: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 1370 comments I just finished. This is still an enjoyable read for me. I'm hoping to read the next book in the series. I would love to see big brother Dev get his HEA.

@Shaz, I look forward to your thoughts on the book.

@Mariana, for some reason (only in books), I love the selfish, overly proud Rakes. It's so much more satisfying when they fall.

🐝 Shaz 🐝 | 1215 comments Lauren, if you have kindle unlimited, the full series is on it.

Mariana | 2692 comments I finished also. I agree it was an enjoyable story.

James was redeemed for me. The Sinclairs and Eden specifically definitely had a good influence on him!

I would like to continue the series. Dev is the best older brother and will make a wonderful hero (I think). He does seem a little unreasonable where she is concerned.

🐝 Shaz 🐝 | 1215 comments I have started to read the book today.

🐝 Shaz 🐝 | 1215 comments James has started off as a stiff upper class twit. I am enjoying this read up to now. Happy to see his feeling for his young sister are softening his heart.

message 21: by Mariana (new)

Mariana | 2692 comments Yes! What a difference a sister can make. :)

message 22: by Lorien (new)

Lorien | 427 comments Well[, I finished. Didn't care for it. The pacing was odd, and I didn't love the writing style. The big Sinclair secret was a bit, well lame. The bad guy predictable.

🐝 Shaz 🐝 | 1215 comments I have finished reading the story. I must have enjoy it , as I didn’t skip pages or get bored.
It was good to see James and Eden get there happy ending.

Mariana | 2692 comments Lorien, sorry it didn't work for you. Hopefully the next BOTM is better. I have read and enjoyed Wendy Vella's writing before, but it is not for everyone. I didn't really know who the bad guy was until (view spoiler)

🐝 Shaz 🐝 . glad you enjoyed it. I agree it was not boring.

🐝 Shaz 🐝 | 1215 comments I am known reading Devon story and have Essex and Cams books. I like the family are involved in book 1 and 2 and the humour between them.

Meh, can't like them all. And this definitely was better than a couple I've read lately.

🐝 Shaz 🐝 | 1215 comments I have got the full series Mariana . From kindle unlimited.

I've considered KU, but haven't tried it yet. I have definitely considered signing up. I get a lot off freebies, borrow from the library, and purchase the books I really want. Most of those aren't available there.
