1. Alan and Naomi - Myron LevoyHOOOOOO BOY I AM MAD ABOUT THE ENDING
One of my students has to read this for school, so I read ahead to prep. It's a good book, but I am straight up mad about how it ended.
2. I'm Glad My Mom Died - Jeanette McCurdywowza. read this at the recommendation of my therapist. it's a good read and pretty cathartic if you grew up with problematic parents.
3. The Boxcar Children - Gertrude Chandler Warnerit was sweet to read this with a student. I have such happy memories of reading it as a kid.
6. Among the Impostors - Margaret Peterson Haddixreread - working through this series with one of my students. the shadow children series is always a hit with reluctant readers.
Merlin: The Lost Years - T. A. Barrongodddddd I love this book. reread, decided to use it with a 6th grader.
20. The Giver - Lois Lowryreread, one of my students was reading it for school. such an emotional read.
