Princess Diana may have been the last truly shining light in the British royal family. Children's author Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara doesn't shy away from the divorce and bulimia - unusual for a children's picture book - but focuses on her well-known kindness to all.
My review of Princess Diana with several illustrations and a bit of a whinge

Magic Triumphs by Ilona AndrewsThe "finale" of a great series ends on an expected high note. My review for the entire series -- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I just finished
Keeper of Enchanted Rooms and I HIGHLY recommend it. Has some romance in it, some mystery, some thriller, and magical realism, and overall GREAT book. I'm currently reading
The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot and it's great!
Known during the Depression as "the most violent woman in Sydney",
Iris
Webber led a rough and ready life as a thief and prostitute. Aussie author Fiona Kelly McGregor paints a vivid picture of the underworld and extreme poverty of the 1930s.
My review of Iris
Joe Hill's The Pram is one of the Amazon Original Stories in the Creature Feature Collection. Good creepy read that comes to quite a sudden stop!
My review of The Pram
I am currently reading The Picture of Dorian Gray for the very first time. I am about 60% in and really enjoy it :)
Here is my 3.48 rounded to 3 stars review of Station Eternity
by Mur Lafferty:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The cross between science fiction and mystery worked well. What a great first sentence! However, the book quickly goes back and forth in time without notice causing one to feel unsettled and disrupting the flow and pacing. These instances are also from different points of view and only slowly reveal what has happened in the past. Despite this, the plot was interesting and complex. Overall, this novel was entertaining and had great world-building.
Has anyone read
The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods? Just saw the cover and that it sold for 1.26 USD on amazon com today and I could not resist buying it. :)
For a minute I thought I had read it, but I looked it up and it wasn’t the one I was thinking. Very interesting premise though. Hope you enjoy!
I've not read it, Melinda, but it certainly looks good. I'll be interested to see what you think of it.
I hope
The Incredible Hotel
actually exists somewhere, exactly the way Kate Davies and Isabelle Follath describe it. Lovely story and gorgeous artwork.
My review of The Incredible Hotel with several of the wonderful illustrations
Here is my 4.04 rounded to 4 stars review of My Sister's Grave

by James J. Butcher:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Urban Fantasy
debut novel
imaginative world-building and diverse characters
A reimagining of a classic that not only expands on events that were originally off-page, but offers a new point of view and improves upon the source of inspiration, an impressive feat. Also, Hob FTW!

What Moves the Dead by T. Kingfisher
The Sebastian St Cyr historical mystery series by C.S. Harris is just terrific. Searching for missing street children takes Lord Devlin to
Where the Dead Lie
and some truly evil men.
My review of Where the Dead Lie
Ankle Snatcher, by Grady Hendrix, is NOT a bedtime story, unless you want to be awake all night with the lights on!
My review of Ankle Snatcher
Clean Sweep by Ilona AndrewsA fun start to a new series with a blend of urban fantasy and sci-fi. --

Here is my 2.88 rounded to 3 stars of This House of Grief: The Story of a Murder Trial
by Helen Garner:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
True Crime
Heartbreaking novel. Unfortunately the writing style didn't appeal to me. However, this is an outlier opinion.
If a child seems a bit nervous about confronting An Unexpected Thing, a cheerful friend can help. Ashling Lindsay shows how in her cute book.
My review of An Unexpected Thing with some of the illustrations
When heroin is discovered on the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota, Virgil Wounded Horse goes after the cartel in Winter Counts by David Heska Wanbli Weiden. Excellent reading and perfect audio.
My review of Winter Counts
I had a hard time getting into my other book so started reading Murder in a Teacup
by Vicki Delany. Glad I switched.
Here is my 4.41 rounded to 4 stars review of Dark Memory
by Christine Feehan:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Paranormal Romantic Suspense
A legend, a protector of her tribe, and a 2000-year-old warrior are combined with suspense, action, and romance. It was entertaining and has great characterization.

Mystery
Overall, this was an engaging storyline with wonderful characters and multiple mysteries to solve. It struck the right chord for me.
Sweep in Peace by Ilona Andrews#2 in the Innkeeper Chronicles & a pivotal event for the future of the Inn.
It's not necessary to read the debut novel first.

I finished
Kaikeyi by Vaishnavi Patel a few days ago - I haven't written a review (yet) but I really enjoyed it! It's Kaikeyi from the Ramayana but with a different spin on the story.I knew absolutely nothing about Hindu mythology going into this and now feel I should learn about it and/or read similar books.
That's always a great feeling and what Iove about books the most. When they inspire you to further reading. ♡
Here is my 4 star review of That Summer in Berlin
by Lecia Cornwall:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Historical fiction
Danger, intrigue, the Olympics, and a possible romance take center stage in this novel. The plot is twisty and the story kept me captivated despite a few slow spots. The historical references to events during the Olympics added a significant layer of interest and realism to the plot.
One Fell Sweep by Ilona AndrewsThis series have been written in an episodic manner. It's still fun to read then out of sequence.
My Review -- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
finishedThe Lost: A Search for Six of Six Million
My review: www.goodreads.com/review/show/5879616972
Sweep of the Blade by Ilona AndrewsThis is the only installment so far in the series that's written in Maud's POV. All the others have been from Dina's perspective. This can be read as a standalone.
