I like your list. I have Murder in the Marais but haven't read it, which is silly because when I visited my brother in Paris (good grief 20 years ago), he lived in the Marais. Sigh.
In Cold Blood is good -- groundbreaking journalistically speaking because it was allegedly the first "nonfiction novel," although I think Somerset Maugham got there first. :)

Alondra wrote: "Great idea, Jackie! It keeps your options open and doesn't hold you to just one book."Thanks, Alondra. I did this to make sure that I am reading a variety of books.

I hope to get to the Marais in April. I read the Capote book in the early 70s, but I decided it was time for a reread.
Interesting way of picking books, I've read two, the Bachman books and In Cold Blood, liked the former, didn't like the latter (which was more annoying as I'd spent ages getting hold of a copy!)
I like how you've broken down your list. On the Beach ranks up there as one of my all-time favorite books. Nevil Shute is a wonderful story teller. I hope to finally start the Cara Black books in 2023 too. Enjoy your 2023 selections, Jackie.

This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends,
Not with a bang
But a whimper.
Considering I read this book in the 60s, it really has remained in my mind.

I've read a few times over the years and also have enjoyed the movie based on the book.

I love how you broke down the categories (esps Cats lol they do earn their own category don't they???)Enjoy the Bachman aka King collection. Its fabulous.
Nice variety, Jackie. I love it. I've read Running Man (in the Bachman collection) and In Cold Blood, and enjoyed them both. Looking forward to seeing what you think about your other books!

Yes, cats are certainly special! So glad you liked the Bachman books.

Love your variety! The only one I've read is Fervent: A Woman's Battle Plan to Serious, Specific and Strategic Prayer. Priscilla Shirer is a great teacher. I'll be looking to hearing your thoughts on all the others.Happy Reading!
