I was so excited to start this challenge that I’ve already finished the first prompt! I found this group when I was looking for different challenges to broaden my reading genres. I really wanted to read at least 52 books in 2022 and unfortunately did not hit that goal, so fingers crossed for 2023!
2023 Around the Year
1. A book set in a location that begins with A, T, or Y
Station Eleven - Emily St John Mandel Dec 23rd-Dec 28th 2022 "Usually I’m pretty generous when rating books but this one was so highly rated and my expectations were extremely high. I’m sure I’m not the only one but I feel like this book was all over the place but the characters went no where. I feel like, while there was an “antagonist” in the Georgia Flu and the Prophet, I feel like there was no real “plot.” I’m not sure how to explain it but this book was basically if you were to follow background characters in “The Stand.” Like, yeah they had struggles and stuff but didn’t really DO anything."
2. A book by an author you read in 2022
Reminders of Him - Colleen Hoover Jan 13
