Alan | 4 comments Read between 1975 and 1979. Teen book. Prologue to the story was about the children (boy and girl, most likely siblings) being raised by a monk and taught martial arts. In some way, the kids ended up in Asgard (a raid on their abbey?). They catch the eye of Odin because of their ability to fight without weapons. They are involved in some way in Baldur's death. They fight on the side of Odin, Vidar, Thor, and his army against Loki and Fenris. Thanks!

Well. Maybe I can enjoy it. World Cat found 31 copies in among all the libraries that are part of it. Looks like I might have to go to the Library of Congress to give it a read :-)

Capn | 3506 comments Oof. Bookfinder comes up with 0 hits, and it's not at OpenLibrary, either. :S

Other than trying an ILL (possible?), my only other tip is to create a "want" on Abebooks and wait to receive an email... if you leave the price field open-ended, you can (sometimes) get a good sense of the market price. I get "Abebooks Has Found the Book You're Looking For!" notifications all the time that, ha ha ha, are at least good for a jolt and a nervous laugh. :) But every so often, they come up under $20 and I jump at it.

I'll keep my eyes open for you, thought I doubt my chances of stumbling over a copy in Switzerland are anything other than astronomical. :)

What? That's awesome! Thanks for going that extra distance! I'd not heard of Abe Books... Looks like I'm getting it shipped from the UK.
