Jana (nanekyuuka) | 39 comments I got this beautiful fairy tale slipcase containing three volumes that I wanted to add separately to Goodreads—just to find out that all three of the volumes share one ISBN (the one from the slipcase entry).

Now I wonder whether it would be okay to still add the single volumes to the database or if this falls under "Individual works that are only available for purchase as bundled with another, primary work" and should not be added. They are a bundle but there is no primary work.

As far as I know you can only purchase them together with this slipcase but they are still three separate books and people might only own one or two of them (because they borrowed one book or maybe found one single volume at a flea market). The slipcase looks nice but doesn't really change that they are separate books. It would also be much easier to track progress and count them towards the Goodreads Challenge if you could add them separately.

If I were to add them, should I just leave the ISBN field blank and add a Librarian note with a link to the slipcase entry, similarly to how it is done with other books/ACEs who share one ISBN? This would make the most sense to me but I'm not sure if it's in line with the Goodreads policies, so some input would be appreciated!

Correct. Unless published on their own, the editions included in the set are not eligible to be added individually.

Jana (nanekyuuka) | 39 comments That's too bad, I hope I will never run into this problem of owning one book of a set that I then can't add to my shelf.

Thanks for answering!
