Ivelisse | 644 comments We rolled another 9... need to pay Team Cannon $20 rent.

Tasks are:
Read a book with a red cover (>50%)
Read a book whose title includes a double letter
Read a book set in Chicago
Read a book by an author whose first and last initials can be found in “ILLINOIS”

message 102: by Ivelisse (new)

Ivelisse | 644 comments Only one in the 3rd section that fits is Eunice's The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society which has the double E in the title.

I don't have anything with double Es

message 104: by Ivelisse (new)

Ivelisse | 644 comments I looked through all of the books and nothing else qualifies. At least we do have one but that's it. I'll post Eunice's book.

Sounds good.

message 106: by Alissa (new)

Alissa | 55 comments So the tasks are the same for the spaces no matter how many times we land on them?

message 107: by Ivelisse (new)

Ivelisse | 644 comments Correct. We just hope to have books to move on quickly. Next team can’t roll until the task is complete.

message 108: by Ivelisse (new)

Ivelisse | 644 comments We landed on Pacific Ave (paid $26 rent) and collected $25 from Team Thimble.

Our tasks are:
Read a book with a green cover (>50%)
Read a book whose title starts with a P
Read a book set in a place that borders the Pacific Ocean
Read a book by an author whose first or last initial can be found in “PACIFIC”

message 109: by Ivelisse (last edited Jan 10, 2023 08:25AM) (new)

Ivelisse | 644 comments 1. The Murder of Roger Ackroyd (Hercule Poirot, #3) by Agatha Christie for green cover.
or
2. Firestone The Omega & The Exiled Prince (Lost Princes of Morona Book #1) by Claire Cullen fits authors initials found in PACIFIC... Claire Cullen is the author.

They are low in values so it works out.

message 110: by Eunice (new)

Eunice | 306 comments I'm down for whichever has lower points, I guess

Either one works!

message 112: by Ivelisse (new)

Ivelisse | 644 comments We landed on Boardwalk!!!! I am shocked. I could swear we were going to land on another 9!

Tasks are:
Read a book with a dark blue cover (>50%)
Read a book whose title ends with a letter in “BOARDWALK”
Read a book set on/near a beach
Read a book by an author whose first and last initials can be found in “BOARDWALK”

message 113: by Ivelisse (new)

Ivelisse | 644 comments I am assuming most are away but I vote for Ice Planet Barbarians (Ice Planet Barbarians, #1) by Ruby Dixon which I think fits dark blue cover and first and last initials can be found in “BOARDWALK” with RD. It is also only $19!

message 114: by Alissa (new)

Alissa | 55 comments We have to buy it and that is a great option!

message 115: by Raquel (new)

Raquel Shah | 51 comments I agree.. it’s a must buy and if it’s there.. use it.

message 116: by Ivelisse (new)

Ivelisse | 644 comments Thanks ladies! We haven't had much luck landing on available property, hopefully this is a good sign!

message 117: by Namita , Ms. Ink and Insights (new)

message 120: by Ivelisse (new)

Ivelisse | 644 comments Boardwalk!

We rolled an 8, landed on St James and now owe Team Thimble $14.

Tasks are:
Read a book with an orange cover (>50%)
Read a book whose title starts with J

Happenstance which is $10 fits in the 4th task. I think it's a given!

Computers were hacked at work so I couldn't hop on like I usually do then just kid's games and birthday delayed me more. We did something small for the time being but the fact we sang to him and he played with his cousin made his day. He's super easy to please.

Ivelisse | 644 comments Hi team! Team Top Hat rolled earlier so now it was our turn! We rolled a 6 and landed on Park Place owned by Team Thimble... we owe them $35.

Tasks are:
Read a book with a dark blue cover (>50%)
Read a book whose title contains all the letters in “PARK”
Read a book with a rich character
Read a book by an author whose first or last initial can be found in “PLACE”

message 134: by Ivelisse (last edited Jan 17, 2023 08:27PM) (new)

Ivelisse | 644 comments I'm going to use the $29 book we have that fits PLACE. Next time we cross go, we're going to use the highest 10 books you all have done an amazing job reading. I'll throw in a novella or two for extra books to hopefully use on our next rounds.

Any interesting reads? Recommendations? I know Raquel had one!

message 135: by Raquel (new)

Raquel Shah | 51 comments I just finished Tattered and the mc is rich! I just need to enter my completed date in the spreadsheet.

I have just finished Don't Look (Pike, Wisconsin, #1) by Alexandra Ivy - added the date to the spreadsheet.

No sure if we could have used it.

It has a high page count! If we don't use it for a task, it'll deposit nicely into our bank account!

If only I could really deposit the pages read into a real bank account ***sigh***

Namita (-namita) | 2013 comments Mod
Now, wouldn't that be something!! LOL

The banked books with check marks are used and done with?

message 139: by Ivelisse (new)

Ivelisse | 644 comments Yes! We have deposited those in the “bank” and can’t be used for tasks.

message 143: by Ivelisse (last edited Jan 18, 2023 09:45PM) (new)

Ivelisse | 644 comments We need 2 books...

I know the book No Prince the MC goes to jail but it's 400 pages. I'm almost positive in 20 Years Later, a character goes to jail... Raquel?

message 144: by Ivelisse (last edited Jan 18, 2023 09:46PM) (new)

Ivelisse | 644 comments Recursion has a law enforcement character which is $34

Circus of the Damned, Anita is held captive for a little bit - we have two read on that book and it's $32 each

I would prefer to hold off on yours for as long as we can! Or at least until we pass go again!

message 146: by Ivelisse (new)

Ivelisse | 644 comments Ok so we’re not in jail… we’re passing so no tasks are required. We’re good!

message 147: by Namita , Ms. Ink and Insights (new)

Namita (-namita) | 2013 comments Mod
Good to know.

message 148: by Raquel (new)

Raquel Shah | 51 comments Sorry for late response. Yes in twenty years later, a character goes to jail.

message 149: by Ivelisse (new)

Ivelisse | 644 comments We landed on Virginia and surprisingly it's still available! Scooped that up for $160 and collected rent from Top Hat for $12.

Here are the tasks:

Read a book whose title starts with V
Read a book set in Virginia or West Virginia
Read a book by an author whose first and last initials can be found in “VIRGINIA”

message 150: by Ivelisse (new)

Ivelisse | 644 comments I think the quickest option is the first and last initials... Storm of Locusts by Rebecca Roanhorse... R is in VIRGINIA
