Finished Gang Leader for a Day A Rogue Sociologist Takes to the Streets by Sudhir Venkatesh while not bad it could have been better.

About to start a Star Wars book which I believe is actually still in the official cannon Star Wars Tarkin by James Luceno with luck this will be a good read. I'm also interested in this villains history.

Finished Tarkin and a couple of comic book collections. Now starting to read Dragons at Crumbling Castle And Other Tales by Terry Pratchett by Terry Pratchett. I am somewhat torn on reading the book now since learning that Terry Pratchett passed away today.

I've read the first eight or nine Discworld books, but this seems like a fitting time to jump back into the series. The wife and I purchased the complete series on Kindle this evening.

Meantime, I finished Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban as well as Death Masks over the weekend. I began The Hero of Ages but haven't yet gotten very far.

Bill | 192 comments Opening Day is April 5th. I am so ready, but to tide me over until then I'm reading The Summer of Beer and Whiskey How Brewers, Barkeeps, Rowdies, Immigrants, and a Wild Pennant Fight Made Baseball America's Game by Edward Achorn

PS: LET'S GO, METS!

I am considering a read through my collection of Pratchett books from the start.

Was at the library while my father returned some books and found Trigger Warning Short Fictions and Disturbances by Neil Gaiman on the new book shelf. Turns out it is a "Lucky Book" shelf which just means I have to return the book in 7 days. Will take a quick break on the Pratchett book.

Bill | 192 comments Easter is nearly here, hoping I have time to finish Barabbas by Pär Lagerkvist before then. It's about Barabbas, the prisoner the Jews asked Pilate to release instead of Christ, and his life with the knowledge of what that meant. Looking forward to it.

The Light Between Oceans
Just finished this book. I thought an excellent job was done with the emotions of love, anger, betrayal, and forgiveness. The middle drags out a bit, but it is well worth it.

Bill | 192 comments Billy Bean the player, not the GM (that's Billy Beane) has had an active life since retiring from MLB and writing his biography. Still as I'm primarily interested in his life as a baseball player, and with a new season set to begin, it's finally time to read Going the Other Way Lessons from a Life In and Out of Major League Baseball by Billy Bean
