Last four books to go.

Any takers on the final "Tiger" task?
We would get an additional 50 points if we complete that one!

I just finished my book for the day task. I will update the sheet later. Can we use The Jungle Book for the tiger task?

I was looking but couldn't find anything that would work, that's also short enough I could finish today.

Updated the spreadsheet for you. No worries!
Also, The Jungle Book should work.

For children's book, we need it be more than 100 pages and more than 25,000 words according to arbookfind.com
It satisfies both those criteria (277 pages and 50593 words): https://www.arbookfind.com/bookdetail...

message 158: by Alyana (new)

Alyana | 617 comments The jungle book has 270 pages I think. I started it and should finish it later in the afternoon.

Yes, Lacey! You just couldn't finish it before the start of the month, which now has already started - so off we go! :)

That is an interesting question.
My first instinct would be to say no that you could need to add it to your GoodReads account, else how would one know that you read it. But, I can check in with the Mods if this is a special case. Not holding my breath on that though!

I think what you can do is add it to your shelves once you finish reading and just edit the start/read date. Don't forget to uncheck the add to my update field box . Does your mom go through your gr shelves? I hope not. 😂

That is just my opinion though, the mods still has the final say.

Alina (alinaisreading) Hi everyone,
I hope you're all having a great day so far.

I want to ask if I could use Ask Again, Yes by Mary Beth Keane as a green book, as although tineye says that the cover is 53% green, I wasn't sure as some of the shades of green look more towards blue.

Hey Jessica, the Mods have come to a resolution.
Here is their verdict, verbatim,

"Mod decision is that only books marked as "read" on GR can be used."

LOL! Oh these pesky on-the-cuff colors.
I'd say that this is yellow. (For once, TinEye agrees! :P)

EDIT: I take that back - the Mods/Caps don't agree. It is apparently Chartreuse and doesn't fall in either the yellow or green category, :(

Oh no.. It looks green to me. I even checked tineye and it shows 80% green, but oh well, if the mods say no, it's okay.

MARCH MINI CHALLENGE IS HERE!!

Head on over here for more details!

The tracking spreadsheet is updated with a new tab.
This is going to be an interesting task to track because it is fairly open-ended and depends on our creativity and discretion.
So, as starters, I have created some basic tasks that we can tackle.
But, if you could identify more or better "characteristic" tasks, please feel free to add in to the spreadsheet.

Books can be started at anytime after Mar 1,
but CANNOT be finished before the start of the Mini Challenge.

Countdown to the Mini Challenge Start: https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown...

message 200: by Amy (new)

Amy | 219 comments Unfortunately, Las Vegas Public Libraries is discontinuing their out of state library card service on the 27th and this pretty much decides all my reading for the next couple weeks. I will be reading/trying to read the following books now because that's the only way I will be able to access them:

- Spare Parts: The Story of Medicine Through the History of Transplant Surgery
- The Cabin at the End of the World
- The White Cascade: The Great Northern Railway Disaster and America's Deadliest Avalanche
- Virology: Essays for the Living, the Dead, and the Small Things in Between
- The Remedy: Robert Koch, Arthur Conan Doyle, and the Quest to Cure Tuberculosis
- Walk the Wild With Me
- The Upright Thinkers: The Human Journey from Living in Trees to Understanding the Cosmos
- Cinderella Man: James Braddock, Max Baer, and the Greatest Upset in Boxing History
- The Immortal Conquistador
- The Extractionist
- Shoggoths in Traffic

I know we won't be able to use a good number of these (a lot of them are nonfiction), but if there are any I should prioritize please let me know.
