I wish! They are looking for the dragon animal, this ends up being the fish animal. :=(
Alyana wrote: "We still need to fill 2, 3 and 6 yellow books?"We have 5 Wild Draw 4s which means we have to duplicate our colored cards (can do each color only ones) - so out of the 4 Yellow Cards we originally have, we can do any 3 or even all 4.
Sharon wrote: "I'm getting ready to start
. Will that work for a yellow cover?"Looks very yellow to me!
Once I finished reading my book probably tonight, I was going to start on
. Would that also work for a yellow cover, or is it too orange?
I just looked online at shades of yellow, and there are definitely some darker yellows that could take into account the rest of Sharon's book and all of my book ...
Lazy Days wrote: "I just looked online at shades of yellow, and there are definitely some darker yellows that could take into account the rest of Sharon's book and all of my book ..."This is according to tineye:
Lazy Days wrote: "Oh didn't realise there was a thing that did that. Lol mine doesn't have a single pinch of it!"There's a link on the first page of our thread. 😁
Sharon wrote: "I'm getting ready to start

Lazy Days wrote: "Oh didn't realise there was a thing that did that. Lol mine doesn't have a single pinch of it!"Take TinEye with a pinch of salt. It is notorious to spit out random colors when it might obviously look a certain color.
This book obviously wouldn't work for Yellow (but what a BEAUTIFUL book this is!) Hope you enjoy reading it.

Thank you Sharon! Looking forward to reading it if this is orange enough 😁

I finished Crow Planet: Essential Wisdom from the Urban Wilderness last night right before D&D (going straight to bed and then diving straight into work is why I didn't update the spreadsheet until now - sorry!)I need to finish The Enchanted Hour before starting The Heretic Royal, as it's a library book and due back first. I don't think we can use it for anything, but if that's wrong just let me know. I should have that done sometime this evening or tomorrow, as there's only about four hours of audio left.
From there I will definitely have enough time to finish The Heretic Royal, and if we still need it I should be able to finish A Natural History of Dragons (for #5: dragons) or On Fire: The Burning Case for a Green New Deal (for #16: fire), though probably not both.

I have a "Day" in the title book and also potentially a "dragon" book - but I would like someone to take my colored cover books, since I won't be able to get through all of them in the next 5 days.
I can probably take 1 more book for a "Day" in the title book. - Cold Light of DayI think Sharon is reading Carrie Soto Is Back that will work for 6 yellow.
Apoorv wrote: "I have a "Day" in the title book and also potentially a "dragon" book - but I would like someone to take my colored cover books, since I won't be able to get through all of them in the next 5 days."I think we said a while ago that The Heretic Royal counts for green cover. Is it already listed for one of the greens or can it be subbed in for Small Things Like These?
Also, my hold for Wrath Goddess Sing came in. Is it yellow enough to count as a yellow cover?
We are doing amazing!!!I might be able to read a shorter book that fits a mini task but dont want to commit to anything right now, will see what is left when I get through the book I am reading.
Question for the team, do you listen to audio or read a book on a kindle/physical copy? I have tried audio but I'm not a huge fan of it, I find the narrative in my head works better creating a picture of characters, scenery etc than another person's voice. I guess I like the silence too.
Lazy Days wrote: "Question for the team, do you listen to audio or read a book on a kindle/physical copy? I have tried audio but I'm not a huge fan of it, I find the narrative in my head works better creating a pict..."I have a mix of both. Sometimes I have the book, but other times I have the audio (though, where that is the case, I'm often following along with a copy of text, if only to check names!).
I don't really have a preference per se, but one thing I definitely appreciate about audiobooks is the convenience. I can't really read an ebook/hard copy while cooking or driving, but audiobooks are just fine.

I sometimes read it along with a kindle. During my younger days, I read it with a physical or ebook but not anymore. I tend to fall asleep if I'm just reading. My imagination works better with audio.
Do you have a favourite narrator or a book that was amazing with audio? Maybe I’ll give it another go!
On top of my head, Julia Whelan is one of my favorites. She narrated most of TJR's books. You can also visit https://www.audiopub.org/audie-awards... for other great narrators.
Yeah, give it another go and you might like it this time. :)

I will keep "Small Things Like These" as a backup incase it does not fit the requirement.
"Wrath Goddess Sing" is very on the cusp for yellow for me, but I will check in the Captains' group as to what the Mods/Caps have to say. Maybe it will work!
Yaaay! I also found a Dragon book that is yellow - so that will work for one of the Yellow's - Uprooted I may also have a Snake book, but not committing to that before I finish this bunch.
UPDATEThe MARCH cards are here!
As we are wrapping February up, take a look at the March Cards, in case you want to plan ahead. The tracking spreadsheet is updated and ready!
I will add more details about them, as we get closer to the beginning of the month!
Apoorv wrote: "Heretic Royal" will work as long as it has an E character in it, because we need an 8 Green! I will keep "Small Things Like These" as a backup incase it does not fit the requirement."I will keep an eye out for E name, then!
We can definitely use The Heretic Royal for Green 8. It's been long enough since I read book two that I forgot the mom's name is Emma.
Hi everyone, I apologize for being inactive for the past week or so, I've been occupied as I'll be moving next month. In terms of reading, I should be able to finish The Rose Society later today or tomorrow for #40 of the mini, but for #4 of the mini, I'll see if I can find a shorter book that fits the challenge as I'm unsure as to if I can finish the book.
Lazy Days wrote: "Question for the team, do you listen to audio or read a book on a kindle/physical copy?..."I like to listen to audiobooks, especially nonfiction. Memoirs are great when they are read by the author. And I've listened to a couple oral histories about movies/shows (The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive, Inside Story of the Epic Hit Series, Alright, Alright, Alright: The Oral History of Richard Linklater's Dazed and Confused)
Daisy Jones & The Six was an amazing audiobook. I like Liane Moriarty's books on audio (the narrator is Australian, and it adds so much to the characters, I think). And I've enjoyed audio versions of Fredrik Backman's books.
Sometimes I start an audiobook, and I just can't get into it because of the narrator's voice or cadence and will switch to reading. My worst experience with an audiobook was probably An American Marriage. The male narrator did a female character's voice and made her sound so breathy/whiny/annoying (and I don't think that's how she was written at all).
I'd say just keep trying them out to see if you can find some genre or narrator you like. I borrow them from my library and also have a subscription to Scribd, so it's pretty inexpensive.
