I also have most of my books lined up at least for February, but I will also make sure I can move some of the books later into the month for the Mini. I can't wait to start the challenge!

I love the FFFs - I literally have Project Hail Mary and Red Rising on my library hold list to read, which may actually happen during this challenge. So super stoked to see them on your list.

Welcome aboard the madness train - brace yourself for a front and center impact of fun! :D

Hello Amy, welcome once again! :) Great to have in the team and bring in some books that I have personally not had the chance to acquaint myself with (except the Wayward Children series, which I have loved so far!) - so thank you for introducing me and the rest of the team to your choices - I am going to be keep an eye out on your read and steal some books myself. Okay - I am jealous! You work in a public library - I mean HELLO!
You have to tell us some cool anecdotes about your experiences in the public library - I bet you see all sorts of readers everyday! (I mean I know my librarian looks at me with an eyebrow raise every single time as I sheepishly scurry from one end of the library to the other over and over to get more books. Eeks! :P)

You should be fine to update the spreadsheet directly if you are comfortable with that - the completion posts just gives the captains a sanity check of completed books. Since you mentioned you are adept at spreadsheets (which I love because I LOVE spreadsheets), I guess you got mentioning all the updates from your read book in there pretty pat down!

And you have your books planned FOR THE FIRST HALF OF THE YEAR??
This is bananas! :O Teach me your ways, O master planner!

OMG, Alina, you have two series in there that have time and time again made their presence felt in my feed - this might just be a sign! Wow!

Who knew these books could be this aggressive. LOL! :p

Love to read that you moved from one end of the world to the absolute other - hope the summer down under has been pleasant (although, I expect Western Australia to get beaten down by the heat pretty often!)

And what's better - you are in the home ground of our qute Quokka!! You have to say hello to one through the duration of this challenge, please please (I do not know if they are easily found, but I mean how darn adorable are they!!) :)

Apoorv!!! I love your energy!!

Yes I see a few different readers visiting the library from time to time but I only work part time because my priority for now is my 8 year old. I mostly work in the children's section so I get to familiarize myself with the children's books.

When it comes to planning, the last two weeks of December, I patiently wait for the groups to post new challenges for the upcoming year and I sign up. I take a look at all tasks given and check my TBR for books that will fit (I prefer my TBR to avoid it piling up, also I have a limit of no more than 200 books on it) and then I put it on my spreadsheet. Here is the link:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...).

Thanks; I'm very much looking forward to it! I love participating in Uno because it's always great!

I highly recommend all the series in my initial post, though you might find some to be difficult for this challenge. The Wandering Inn series, specifically, was originally published as webserial; the books are a result of the author basically grabbing a chunk (trying, though not always succeeding, in including a complete story arc for one of the MCs), lightly editing it, and publishing it in book form. As a result, the books are...long. Very long. As in: I think the shortest one is about 500 pages and the longest that I've read was, I believe 2,200 pages. Given that Uno is on a monthly cycle, it might be best to skip those for challenge purposes unless you're a fast reader.

If you want to check it out though, the entire text can still be found at https://wanderinginn.com/table-of-con.... It's even sorted by book so you could, technically read it all there.

In any case: thank you for the welcome and I can't wait to start reading in *checks the timer* about twelve hours! :)

WE ARE JUST HOURS AWAY FROM THE START OF THE CHALLENGE!!

I am keeling over with excitement. OMG! *breathes into a brown paper bag*
Just a feeeeeew hours to go! Yaaaaay! :D

Do take a quick peak at the initial posts incase you need a refresher as to what you would need to do before and after you finish a book.

Also, quick request, if something comes up and you have to attend to that in real life, please if possible drop in a line here or send me a message, so that you are accounted for.

But more importantly, ENJOY every bit of this fun challenge. I'm sure we will end up with a lot of happy moments and some new cool new books added to our TBRs.

LET'S DO THIS!! :D

Sharon (sharon_alexandr) | 337 comments Spark of Light has been on my TBR since 2019. For some reason, I always delay reading Jodi Picoult's books even though I love them and devour them in a day or two. I think my brain subconsciously recognizes that I can't handle too many reads about hard-hitting topics in a row.

FEBRUARY MINI CHALLENGE IS HERE!!

Head on over here for more details!

The tracking spreadsheet is updated with a new tab that lists all the tasks.
Also, the main tracking page has an additional column where I urge you to write the task numbers, if your book applies to more than one mini task.

Books can be started at anytime after Feb 1,
but CANNOT be finished before the start of the Mini Challenge.

Countdown to the Mini Challenge Start: https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown...

message 75: by Amy (new)

Amy | 219 comments Cinnamon and Gunpowder counts for a teal cover (azure #2) and I can delay finishing it until the fifteenth.

I also added To Honor You Call Us for Emperor #42 and The Heretic Royal for Emperor for #44.

I also have possibles for the following if we need them:

- Azure #7: Sex at Dawn: The Prehistoric Origins of Modern Sexuality

- Azure #9: American Predator: The Hunt for the Most Meticulous Serial Killer of the 21st Century

- Vermillion #15: The Field Guide to Dumb Birds of the Whole Stupid World

- Vermillion #16: On Fire: The (Burning) Case for a Green New Deal

- White #29: The Hunters of Vermin

- Black #37: Would Deadly Nightshade count? It's part of the same series as To Honor You Call Us and The Hunters of Vermin. If not, I have Mother Night or Tonight We Bombed the U.S. Capitol: The Explosive Story of M19, America's First Female Terrorist Group

- Emperor #41 and 43: Why Fish Don't Exist: A Story of Loss, Love, and the Hidden Order of Life, The Lizard King: The True Crimes and Passions of the World's Greatest Reptile Smugglers, or Crow Planet: Essential Wisdom from the Urban Wilderness (they're all biology/zoology books about animals that also have constellations)

Lacey, you can take my spot for the black letters on the cover. I will put my book, Birthday on task 17, I realized it has the word 'day' on it.
