Can you add it to your Uno shelf please? Thanks :-)
Shame about the lack of character depth, but at least it was a quick read!

Eldarwen | 5004 comments ATTENTION ATTENTION

The April Mini Challenge is HERE .

A little earlier than usual, but it is also a little bigger than usual.

Have fun with all the funny animal names ;-)

It's mainly tasks that require completing, so most of it is straight forward. Read through it all, take your time, and if you have questions, feel free to ask.

COUNTDOWN to start of the mini challenge:
https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown...

Once this countdown has gone down to 0, any completed book can be used for the mini challenge, so please remember to include the tasks the books work for in your completion posts, thank you!

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 1019 comments I'll not finish A Canticle For Leibowitz by Walter M. Miller Jr. until the mini starts, so that'll cover the yellow, lol.

I definitely will be reading a brown too Sign of Chaos (The Chronicles of Amber #8) by Roger Zelazny .

And can probably cover just about any task. They seem broad/common enough :)

message 1007: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 1019 comments Oh, just thought. I was planning to read Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman after Canticle, so I have a white lined up too, lol.

message 1008: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Haha, good plan with the yellow! :-)

I'd suggest keeping one of the green and one of the red covers as well for after the mini challenge starts, so we can cover those at the same time, too.

I have been meaning to read that one for a couple of years now! I think I read two chapters but then never got further because I got distracted by other books because I wasn't in the mood for Eleanor. Some day... some day.. ;-)

message 1010: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 1019 comments I've had it sitting on my shelf for ever, but I need a book published on the 9th for my maze, so it's finally time, lol.

What is MPG? I am not sure I know that acronym.

Also at first scan I can totally knock out a vampire book for us (black dagger brother hood to the rescue), And depending on what MPG is i can probably do that one also. :)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Eeeeeeh, I'd have to say no. It's just the lobe - whose to say the top part isn't missing underneath all that hair? ;-)
*eta: it could work for gray cover, what do you think?

Skull on cover, pink and blue covers are the most obvious ones on your list.

Cruel Prince could work for tyrant, no? I haven't read it yet but from what I've heard of the series that seems to be an aspect of the plots.

Enjoy the day out!

message 1020: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments For the rest, my brain is currently giving up as it's been preparing to go to bed for a while now haha.

I'm currently reading Farewell, My Lovely (Philip Marlowe, #2) by Raymond Chandler , which is probably going to work for several tasks, including ear on cover - an entire ear ;-))

Anyway, good night everyone!

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 1019 comments Ohhh, I was going to start this one tomorrow, but I'll delay a day! :D

Eldarwen | 5004 comments I completely misread that and thought you were wanting to claim the purple cover task with the above book hahaha.

"Wait, is she going nuts, or am I?! This is orange?!"

Yeah... don't mind me.. and it isn't even that early in the morning anymore hehe.

I am curious however to see what you think. I wasn't overly fond of the first book.

message 1031: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2892 comments Here's what I'm currently reading. I'll do the others from my list as I read them.

Home A Memoir of My Early Years by Julie Andrews Edwards (not ear on cover!) - no bathroom; trip to the beach; makes breakfast; character's world collapses (parents divorced when she was young); White cover?; inoffensive character; 3 things on cover (if it's at least 3 things, there are 4 white Ms on the cover); slow - the format I got the audio in didn't allow for speeding it up, so I had to listen at regular speed

The Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air, #1) by Holly Black - according to my 17-year-old, it doesn't work for tyrant, but they can't tell me if the other books work for it, because that would be a spoiler
Mention of a stuffed snake; practically naked (the fae command her after she eats a certain fruit and she has no choice); lives in a community; world collapses when her parents are killed; white cover; 3 things the same (twigs); goes for a swim;

Sons from Afar (Tillerman Cycle, #6) by Cynthia Voigt
Takes place in Spring; Live near the ocean/beach; inoffensive character; 3 neon letters on cover; 2 people; set in North America;

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Oooook, Laura, I slotted your Sons from Afar for set in spring. The other two you had mentioned with more detail are already finished so all good.

LaurLa, I've slotted you in for medical examiner and beach life as well. I've also slotted you in for the not suitable for children since that one is indeed inevitable for you hehe. Whatever you read that may not have been mentioned so far can go there!

For the second part, Devil and Moth on cover would be cool if you could prioritise those as well :-)

For the rest, we can always revisit if necessary but those would be great for a start, thanks!
