Eldarwen wrote: "Laura wrote: "E, when you are placing the 2 books above, I wanted to make sure you know that I'm currently listening to Madly, Deeply: The Diaries of Alan Rickman, which will only w..."I really struggled with how to rate this one. I did find it interesting, but despite a comment or two that says they were intended for eventual publication, I didn't feel that they were intended to be read as they were. If he had lived, he might have used them to write a memoir. It wasn't diaries in the sense of thoughts and feelings about the happenings in life; it was diaries more like appointment calendars, with some thoughts included, but not much.
I mean, there was a note on one day in the middle of one of the years. "Offered Harry Potter". And then just moved on to the next thing that happened that day. And he met his wife when he was 15/she was 16. They were together for 47 before they got married. So I knew the marriage was coming up, but he's walking through New York, sees a shop, goes in and buys a ring, because they're getting married in 2 days. No talk of why, no mention of a decision.
I guess what I'm saying is that I was left wanting more. But since he died while still at the top of his game, I think we were all left wanting more.
Sammy wrote: "On the up side, not having my headphones with me meant I finally had the chance to start watching The Boys, because(although I prefer him without the beard...)"
*sigh* with or without beard, I don't mind :-D
Need to start watching The Boys as well, though there are so many other things I need to watch or even finish to watch. Can you believe that I am still not done with Lucifer?!
Laura wrote: "LaurLa wrote: "If it helps, I have these 2 green books. Assuming we all agree they are green enough."I think they're both green enough. Do you need to read them this month, or can you save them in case we need them next month?"
I agree on the first book, not so much on the second. But I do agree, that if you aren't actively planning on reading these this month, LaurLa, it might be better to keep them for April in case we get lots of green cards again :-)
Laura wrote: "I guess what I'm saying is that I was left wanting more. But since he died while still at the top of his game, I think we were all left wanting more."This is very nicely put :-)
Shame about the book, but in a way, it makes sense, especially in light of this particular statement you made, which definitely rings true!

How are we doing, books-wise? On target? I have a few books I didn't add earlier this month that I can throw up at any time if they're needed, though they won't work for the mini...
Funny you should ask, I was just calculating how many books we still need.29 in total - some of those will be covered by Draw 2 cards, so it isn't quite as many.
Of the top of my head, I think it's 15-17 that we still need for the mini, so we should be good. If we get our cards read, the mini will take care of itself!
First page is updated with free cards and tasks!
Awesome. I'll keep those in reserve for now, but they're there for the end of the month if we're short (most only covered a couple of easy #s, but as I figure that's likely what we'll still need by the end of the month, it should work :) )And if no-one wants to read for the wild cards, I can duplicate pretty much any of the colour cards we've drawn :)
Wild cards are filled in as we go along. Usually the harder cards get filled in first and then it's whenever a Wild pops up in a hand that they get filled in, so those aren't a problem, or shouldn't be :-)Good to know though that you do have a few in reserve, just in case! And shuffling things around is always a possibility :-)
