I read one where someone takes a bath...that's all...I think that still rules that one out.

Yeah...that could work
Thanks,

WitchinglyBookish Tammie, I saw The Virgin Suicides needs to be placed on the mini yet and that book would definitely work for most action taking place at night

Tammie | 1392 comments @ALL

We’re just under 1 week from finishing this challenge…we’re doing great!
COUNTDOWN - > https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown...

Please take a few minutes now and double check everything that’s you’ve claimed will be finished by the end of the challenge

If you cannot, please let us know asap

Remember to be sure to add all books to your shelves…we’ve been working on getting as many of our books on the mini…so note a few books have likely been moved around/placed…just double check

Thanks much!

Tammie | 1392 comments @Melissa or Jo
I moved Peter Pan opening up the 'creative' task for thorny devil
wondering if your books might fit that task somehow.

WitchinglyBookish Flawless (Chestnut Springs, #1) by Elsie Silver

Anyone think this could be a brown or tan cover for minis? Or see it fitting any of the options?

Louise | 1282 comments Hi all from Team Echidna just dropping by to let @Jo know that Team Sip over in NBRC is waiting to meet you. Do drop by the thread to introduce yourself.

I don't think there's enough brown there Fallyn...wish there were...I looked yesterday for options to open up more creative tasks and just came up empty.

There are 2 tasks in part 1 left, would your book for either of those?
27-Read a book with a character who simply has no luck, or good fortune.
45-Read a book that could be considered slow. (This can mean various things for various people. Use your own judgment.)

Also, if there are books assigned to 'creative tasks' in part 2 that would work for either of these left in part 1, that MIGHT be helpful depending on how difficult the animal is. We can discuss options available here if anyone thinks of anything.

Tammie | 1392 comments Only 6 spots left on the mini...I'm so impressed Narwhal! woohoo!

message 360: by WitchinglyBookish (new)

WitchinglyBookish It could possibly work for no luck or good fortune...the synopsis says it's a professional bull rider who messed up his career and now needs a pr babysitter to even attempt to get it back, but it's a romance so it'll obviously end up with a HEA

As long as there's some no luck/good fortune, I think you would be OK...if you don't think it applies, is there somewhere else it would work where we could just move books around?

message 362: by WitchinglyBookish (new)

WitchinglyBookish It'll definitely work I just read the first 3 chapters and it was one thing after the next for the MMC and it doesn't seem like even close to ending

Go for it Fallyn...1 more down!

Melissa | 597 comments The book I'm reading right now is pretty slow - so I put it in for the slowpoke one :)

Tammie | 1392 comments OK...We only have 2 spots left on the mini.
A task did open up as we had one book on the SS twice.
I'm particularly interested in any books out there that are already read. There are a couple of us that are nearly done that could read more if needed...here's the 2 that are now available.

Honduran White Bat - white or bat in title OR white cover
Thorny Devil - thorn/y or devil in title OR tan, brown, black cover
Leaf Sheep - leaf or sheep in title OR Creative Task

Melissa | 597 comments Oof!
I just did a major reading day!
My brain is mushy with too many plot lines.
I have one more to finish - and will do so tomorrow.
I'm not sure I'll be able to read for the others we have left ....

message 367: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 597 comments This has been an awesome challenge!! I can't believe 3 months have sped by!
I have really enjoyed seeing what everyone has been reading. This last mini really challenged my brain to think creatively too.
What did you enjoy?
What was your top 1-3 titles for the challenge?
I'd say my top 3 were:
Lessons in Chemistry
The Final Empire
and
The James Corey books

Lessons in Chemistry and Final Empire are probably 2 of my top ones this year!

I think the two Wheel of Time books and the Final Empire were my favorites.

Melissa | 597 comments @ Jax - yes!! Such great books!!

I am going to need to read the Wheel of Time books. Maybe I'll pick the first one up today.

I found a white book by the way that I'll probably read in the next couple of days. Just in case we need one.

Tammie | 1392 comments Hey Melissa...I've enjoyed this one too...I've never read more for a challenge for number of books these last few weeks...but the books have worked for another challenge I'm doing so timing was perfect.

I really enjoyed Firekeeper's Daughter by Angeline Boulley The Dream Daughter by Diane Chamberlain Magic Tides (Kate Daniels Wilmington Years, #1; Kate Daniels, #10.5) by Ilona Andrews
Moon Called (Mercy Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs < I read 3 books in this series and will definitely finish it :)
I have Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus on my list to read and will make it a priority.

COUNTDOWN - > https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown...
Just under 2 days left...1 day, 19 hrs. I'll be sending reminders to everyone that hasn't checked in recently, but we're really looking good to finish...I'm very excited we got through the mini...that was a chunk-ster of a challenge!

Team Narwhal!

We’re done!
CONGRATULATIONS to everyone on a great challenge!

We didn’t come out at the top, but we finished better than average. Know we couldn’t have done any better as we read for ever space on our UNO cards and every task for the minis…100%
