Jo be sure to start your book at the beginning. It’s perfectly fine what you are reading but UNO requires that no books be started before the start of the challenge.
We have a countdown at the top of our thread.
It is fine to carry over to other months once the challenges starts.

Excellent. I purchased the Court of Thorns and Roses at a "winter book sale." I hope to read it over UNO!

I've only done buddy reads on a separate thread, so I'm not sure how we would do one here - Tammie?
Basically we agree to read the book in a certain amount of time, then we write our impressions along the way. We can do this so that we say "chapters -- to ---" before we start our comments to avoid spoilers :)
I'll ask the captain group if they have suggestions on how to do this.

Long answer just in case others have the same question...
MPG stands for 'Main Page Genre'
If you go to the main page for your book, you'll see a row of genres listed directly behind 'Genres': You click on '...more' and those listed there are considered 'main page'.
if you click on '...show all'...those are considered 1st page genres.
Sometimes mods will call out main page, and sometimes 1st page.

Hey all! Just wanted to check in :) I'm super excited to start this challenge, and I just can't wait to talk about books with other people who also like books!! I know that sounds kinda lame but I know so few people who like reading, so to have a whole group of people who love reading so much that I get to chat with is really exciting for me! I didn't realize we should start claiming books already, but I will take a look at the spreadsheet and try to find one ASAP!

I've posted these instructions on how to link your book on the SS in post 5 and in a special tab on the SS...
How to post a link to your book on the SS
1. Go to your the version of the book you are reading. COPY the address for your book. (ctrl + c)
2. Place your cursor in the spot, on the SS, where you want to put your link
3. <- Find this icon at the top of our WSS and 'click' on it4. PASTE (ctrl + v) the copied address in the box labeled 'LINK'
5. Type in the name of your book in the box labeled 'TEXT'
6. Click 'APPLY'
7. Double check you link works.
Checking in - I’ve entered some books into the sheet but the downside is that now I can’t wait to start them oof

In the winter, I prefer the couch, with as many pets on my lap as can fit :)
In the summer, I prefer sitting outside in a lawn chair.
I am looking forward to designated couch time!
Ideally my favorite place to read is out camping. But that doesn't happen as much as I would like. In reality, I read a lot on my couch. If I really want to focus on what I'm reading it's in the bathtub where I won't be disturbed.

My couch most of the time, also cuddling my puppers. Or in bed, I have a bad habit of saying I'm going to sleep and end up reading all night. In the summer I like to take my reading to the beach.

My favorite is the beach...headed that way for a week starting on Friday!! woohoo!
At home I usually sit in a recliner in our family room.
I also do a lot of audio reading in my car.

My reading started off pretty well - but mostly with an audio book, as I was working today. I get most of my reading done on the weekends.I see different "readathons" on different group sites. I'm not really sure what those are, but they sound like fun!
I'd be up for a group - or buddy reading hour or two some weekend - I think that could be really nice :) Even if we are on opposite sides of the world, I think we could figure it out.

Dream of Maui with 80 degree temps...having dinner on the beach most nights and watching the whales in between chapters while having a nice cool drink or two...or three...
I'll be checking in more than ever and reading lots...tomorrow I probably won't get anything done because I am so not ready to leave...arg!
