No jokes...growing up, I’d heard the tales of a woman chosen to kill Monsters, but I never thought it would be me.

My thirtieth birthday was supposed to be a turning point in my life, it wasn’t supposed to turn it upside down.

Learning that the Monsters that lurk in the dark are real, and it’s my sworn duty to hunt and slay them, isn’t exactly how I wanted to celebrate this milestone birthday.

Now, instead of heading out for drinks with my friends, I’m being taught how to fight for my life by the Guardian I’m inextricably drawn to but no one told me it’s on-the-job training. And no one told me the Monsters I’m meant to be fighting are so hot. Three in particular who seem connected to me on various levels.

With the help of an unexpected, yet sexy new ally and an ancient weapon with a mind of its own, I set out to rid the world of this evil, but soon discover that not all is as it seems.

There is a bit too much sex but seems like it powers her up a bit so more the merrier I guess. I also love her new little pet even though I have no idea what it is! (hide spoiler)]

But damn if I wasn't proud of her for demanding she get her other two guys, can't say I blame her there. And she's clearly probably a succubus which would explain her needs and desires which she clearly needs many men to sate.

Think it's pretty cool how the monsters are actually the good guys or are at least neutral and not all inherently evil. This was a fun twist and I'm curious how it will play out. (hide spoiler)]

Finished (view spoiler)[while it kinda had more action, I still wish there was more. I ended up really liking this. Turned into a pretty outrageous read but Cami was an awesome and hilarious heroine. Bringing Mila in from the future was a weird addition to the story and while it was nice to see their future child, Mila is only one child with one of the guys. She has 5 now… but 3 are vamps. Can she not have anymore kids? Let me stop thinking too much lol. Good, super fast reads for me. (hide spoiler)]
