Donna Lundy | 88 comments I was working on another edition of the above book Paradise Postponed Paradise Postponed by Jane Converse It was missing an ISBN number. I found a listing in fictiondb.com that listed the ISBN numbers as :ISBN: 0671535056 and
ISBN13: 9780671535056. Here is the link: https://www.fictiondb.com/title/parad...

But when I tried to add those numbers to our listing, I got an error message saying:
2 errors prohibited this book from being saved:
Isbn is taken by an existing book with the title "Mississippi Mud: Southern Justice and the Dixie Mafia" in 'Public' status. If you believe this is an error please double-check your data, then check the Goodreads Librarians group. ISBNs are optional so you can also add this book without an ISBN.
(The same message for the ISBN 13#)
The entries I found on amamzon.com for that book have completely different ISBN #s. https://www.amazon.com/Mississippi-Mu...
Same for the Simon & Schuster website. I did find a listing at the abebooks.com website that has those same ISBN #s: https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/Sear...

So I am forwarding this info to you because I cannot go any further with it. Hopefully you can figure out which book is supposed to have those ISBN#s and make any corrections as needed. I apologize for all the links, but I wanted to make it easy for you to find the info that I had already located.

If you have time, I'd love to know the resolution to this issue, if you could just send me a quick message to let me know how it worked out!

Thanks for the support!

David Raz (davidraz) | 12797 comments The ISBN was added to the Mississippi Mud by a bot (onix ingram) so this is no human error (at least not on goodreads's side).

As far as I understand the ISBN reuse policy, the ISBN should be with the most recent edition, and it is, so there is nothing that needs to be done. I left librarian notes on both books to note the ISBN reuse.

Thanks for letting me know!
