Cycle of the Scour #1-3 (October 2023)

So got an alert from Audible that The Shattered Path, book 9 in the Cycle of Galand is due to be released May 14th and it clocks in at 18h 40m so not quite the chonker that most were but still a chonker. It's not even on Goodreads yet.

It's not even the end... I just found this on reddit, from a necro'd AMA thread... AMA was a year ago almost, new question/answer was 2 months ago:

"May 2024 for #9. IF I can finish #10 by my deadline, which is up in the air right now, then that one—the end if the series—will be out in July of 2024. I hope to release them pretty much back to back.

I am working extremely hard toward getting the final book out on that timeline. But it's the end, so if I need more time to get it right, I'm gonna take it, so it's possible the finale will be more toward the end of 2024. But it's already 175K words deep, it's not far off. The series should be concluded this next year."

Absolutely not, hard pass for me :) I am not even sad that I never read the Scour books, I missed the first in the Audible sale so I only wasted like $6 which I am good with at this point!

I predict Dante & Blays will do dumb shit, make poor choices that directly cause the deaths of many, many people they are superficially supposed to be protecting. Please note I would have said hundreds of thousands of people but if I recall their prior poor choices caused the deaths of what like 85% of everyone already. In the end they will ultimately, eventually triumph over a seemingly unbeatable foe and go on to live a long life with the dozens of people still alive in the world.

Only reason I disagree on the numbers a bit, is because 13th God suddenly revealed how much of the world has never been explored in the series, and seems positively alien when they DO visit for a few chapters...
