over at Hoopla, there is Moorcock's Elric of Melnibone' comic part 1. The Michael Moorcock Library: Elric of MelniboneAnd Tom having a Figgy Pudding with his port wine.
I'm a Librarian and I use Novelist to assist me in my job all the time. There is a public face to it, but that public face needs to be accessed through the library. So, you need to go to your library's website (if it subscribes to Novelist) and find Novelist. In mine it's under a "Research" menu. If you were in Washington County, Oregon, this is where you'd find it. But you need to be logged in with your library card to actually click through and access it. https://www.wccls.org/research/noveli...

I was a little worried since I don't have a password for my site, but the link seemed to work with out me logging in. I'm not sure if other features are available if I am logged in, or not.
They actually have a fair amount of documentation about what they are doing. Here is a good example, and the page seems to be completely public.

I can't find it from anywhere more recent than 2018, but here's Novelist's list of appeals that they use to categorize books. It could be useful if you're doing the exercise Tom suggested. Sometimes it's easier to pick from a list instead of fishing for your own verbiage.https://www.ebscohost.com/uploads/nov...
FWIW, one reason Elric might seem pulpy is because it's 50 years old [collapses into pile of dust], so closer in time to the pulp era than to today. And Moorcock spent pretty much all of the 1960s and into the 1970s writing lots of fiction at a very fast rate, which lends itself to that flavor.

He's usually, "Yeah, its old and kind of clunky and didn't really hold up well over time. But it's a classic in the genre so its great!"
I only listened to the 1st 1/4 (our pick) & I assumed it was more modern (no earlier than the 80's). I'm surprised that it's from the 70's.
Elric first shows up in a novella in Science Fiction No 47 vol 16 in 1961. If I knew how to put in an image in my text, the cover alone screams "PULP." When I read Moorcock, it was when I did a summer of Fantasy histography. Howard, Leiber and Moorcock. And I viewed it as homework rather than pleasure. I found both Conan, and Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser way more fun than the Elric Books to read.As for Henry Cavill, he is set to star and Executive Produce Warhammer4000 for Amazon. Apparently, Henry is a big fan of the game.

Listening now...Tom's messing with the sound cues reminds me: Star Trek TOS had a limited number of sound cues. From time to time they used laughably incorrect ones. Like Tom was because they didn't have one appropriate for the scene. As for instance a "comedy" cue for a romantic moment.
Rumors are swirling that Henry Cavill was fired from both Witcher and Superman for “toxic gamerbro behavior”. I don’t buy it. Cavill has made it no secret that he wants The Witcher to follow the books more closely, while the producer and showrunner don’t. That’s caused tension, I’m sure. Since the people making the show are all women, it’s easy to slap the “toxic male” label on him.
As for Superman, this is just a case of new DC boss James Gunn wanting to reboot the DCU, going with a younger actor for the role. Also note Gunn will likewise not being continuing with Gal Gadot or Dwayne Johnson. This is just part of the Discovery-WB shake-up, which has nothing to do with anyone’s behavior. Besides, how much toxicity could he possibly bring to a 30-second cameo at the end of Black Adam? Seems spurious to me.
Cavill is a huge nerd, specifically about Warhammer 40k, which he’s now developing.
Oh sure, question me about Wool on Apple TV but someone showing a pic of a door is fiiine. :p…apparently I’m reacting to the podcast in real time.

Because I don't just like it because it's a classic, but because I look past temporal flaws and find something else to like. Didn't find those as much this time. OR I'm getting old and grumpy, heh.

Ardbeg is the easy one, there are a couple of others from Islay that I admit I have no idea how to pronounce.Bruichladdich
