It's always interesting to read one of Arthur W. Upfield's Bony novels for a snapshot of Australia's outback way of life in the 1930s.

I finished listening to The Ways of the World by Robert Goddard - 3.5*.An interesting, somewhat complicated story with many characters about WWI vet Max who investigates the suspicious suicide of his British diplomat father. Not as suspenseful as I thought it would be but I enjoyed the writing style.
When We Fall by Aoife Clifford is an atmospheric murder mystery set in a small Aussie coastal townreview: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I recently enjoyed the seventh adventure with Master Mercurius (now Doctor, thank you very much!) in the Netherlands, 17th century. This time, author Graham Brack has him investigating a 'locked-room' Murder In Maastricht where he is supposed to be engaged in a debate about witches. An impossible crime scene? Witches?
My review of Murder in Maastricht
My review for Danged Black Thing by Eugen Bacon Her creepy, suspenseful and darkly funny collection of spec fiction/horror stories.

My review of Three Widows by Patricia Gibney. While this is the 12th book in a fabulous series, it could be read as a standalone. The resolution of the crimes left me scratching my head a little, but it was still a great read!

I finished listening to Searching for Sylvie Lee by Jean Kwok - 4*. A intriguing story of a young Chinese immigrant woman, her successes and difficulties, who goes missing and the adoring younger sister who looks for answers. Enjoyed the complexities of the family and the mix of Chinese, Dutch and American cultures.
This is an exciting start to a new series about a vigilante FBI agent who deals out her own form of justice.
Dark Angel by D.K. Hoodreview: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Now I have to read the next two! The Black House is the first of Peter May's popular Lewis Trilogy, and it was terrifying, moving, and compelling. Great read.
My review of The Black House
5 stars for contemporary romance
Heart Bones by Colleen HooverMy review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Last Devil to Die by Richard Osman is another fun cosy, but also a little bitter sweet review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Lenny Marks Gets Away With Murder is Aussie author Kerryn Mayne's debut novel, which shows how childhood trauma could break or make lonely primary school teacher Lenny.
