The Girl with Seven Names: A North Korean Defector’s Story as the title suggests is a memoir by Hyeonseo Lee about her escape from North Korea. It is a gripping read which tells the story of the difficulties of life in North Korea, of the terrifying ordeal of escape, and the adjustment to life outside the regime. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ here is my review

With the 18th book in Lisa Regan's Josie Quinn series on my NetGalley TBR, I thought I'd better get the basics with #1, Vanishing Girls. 4.5★s and looking forward to more. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Boy of Chaotic Making by Charlie N. Holmberg
Though this third book didn't match up to the earlier two in the series, I still liked it quite a lot. Good for historical fantasy readers, but not a standalone novel.

The less I say the better, I think, about All That's Left Unsaid by Aussie author Rowena Holloway. Not for me.
My review of All That's Left Unsaid
I enjoyed the story of fugitive spook 'Bird' in
A Bird in Winter
by Louise Doughty. Glad I read it when I was warm at home, though, (and nobody was chasing me).

I think The Conversion by AA Amanda Lohrey is my third novel in as many months that includes the staging of a play as a key component of the plot. I'm really not that keen on theatre myself, to be honest. However, here the play is significant without taking up too many pages. Overall I enjoyed the novel very much.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
