I do not understand it..

St Martins Press also turn me down a lot.

I know I get accepted more by British based publishers, and turned down by American.

Vice versa with me, Sean, but I also catch the wrath of St.Martin’s unless they send me a widget! Go figure.

St. Martin's turns me down when I send a request, but they send me books anyway directly from the publicist with a NetGalley Widget.

I really think it's a hit or miss with them. I don't request from them anymore b/c I also get widgets from them more than when I request them.

I get approved by St. Martin's Press, but never by Berkley. I have never gotten a NetGalley Widget. How long after you started on NetGalley did it take to start getting Widgets? I only started at the end of June and only have completed 34 reviews on NG.

Monnie | 154 comments Excited - just approved for Jonathan Kellerman's newest Alex Delaware (The Museum of Desire). I've got a stack with publication dates earlier than Feb. 4 waiting to be read, but this one will get jettisoned to the top of the pile anyway. Long been a favorite series.

I've been on NetGalley for a few years. But last year I started to receive the widget. This year I'm getting 2-3 a month from St. Martin's, Harlequin, PenguinRandomhouse, and Barbour

I just has my first Net Galley Widget sent to me from my private e-mail, it worked and I have the book offered to me

NET FORCE: DARK WEB (Hanover Square Press; November 26; $9.99 U.S./$12.99 CAN) will cure your fix until Season Two finally premieres. Net Force: Dark Web is the latest addition to the techno-thriller series created by Tom Clancy and Steve Pieczenik, penned by New York Times bestselling author, Jerome Preisler. Preisler’s pulse-pounding writing and Tom Clancy’s and Steve Pieczenik’s brilliant imagination create a perfect cocktail of suspense and action in this of-the-moment, ripped-from-the-headlines tale of military tech, high-stakes hacking, and cyber terrorism.

message 4136: by Mike (last edited Jan 05, 2020 08:48PM) (new)

Mike | 56 comments Christine wrote: "What’s NetGalley Books?"

NetGalley is a website that offers free ebook copies of books. ARCs (Advance Reading Copies) are available for request with the understanding that if you are approved you will leave an honest review (good or bad, just honest).

Take a look and sign up if it appeals to you. No scams, no tricks, all completely legitimate. But, a word of advice, if you sign up and request start out slow... Sometimes it takes a few days or even a week or more to get an answer. A lot of times you get excited and request a whole bunch thinking you won't get approved and have to catch up with all the books you get.
