We are all happy now. Yet another approval I got Northwoods by Bill Schweigart reminds me of Stephen King.

Thanks Diane. I am specially interested in The Poverty Industry and Evicted. They are not thrillers or fiction even.

Homelessness and Poverty is on the rise and much is being done to help the people without a lot of accountability.

I almost requested this book, still might. My thought was that after pretty much living it, I wasn't sure whether I would feel comfortable reading about it. I've worked my entire life, well started at 12 babysitting. Raising 2 children with a dead beat Dad on one income isnt enough. Hopefully this book will open some eyes. Things need to change. I will never forget the night we had been visiting my sister's family and came home about 11:45pm. After bathing the kids they were getting ready for bedwhen someone knocked on my door. By this time it was at least 12:30am. I opened the door to my sleaze of a landlord standing there suprised to see my kids still up and asking why they were still up. ????? I asked him if there was something wrong, and he said no and quickly decided to leave. He had come by hoping to talk me into giving him sexual favors in place of paying rent. Yuck! I am not and have never been that type of person, but there is always some slime ball looking to pray on people in need.

Gopal (gopaliyer) | 482 comments Nobody should have to go through that Lynn... You are a courageous women. Yes exploitation will always be there, it is the nature of the beast, the perception of power. There is enough available in this world for everyone, but people hoard.

Death comes for all and none can carry anything once dead, people forget this.. and this is the reason the world is as it is currently...

Gopal:

Sometimes you just have to let what that Christer gal says go in one ear and out the other. I was approved for Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City. I have only read one chapter. It takes place in Milwaukee, which surprisingly is the fourth poorest city in the United States. I think that it is going to be a good book. I believe that you will like it.

Cheers, Sandy. Sorry you got turned down. Sometimes just luck of the draw. I've read the previous two and really enjoyed those. I'm hoping this one will outdo those two. Sarah's books do seem to get better and better. :)
