Smooth, easy, read. As a fan of Nero Wolfe, I appreciate this modern take on the traditional hard-boiled detective. Looking forward to continuing this series.

I cannot seem to move past this category! A familiar favorite and an easy read for lazy summer Sunday. 4 stars.

C. Death and the Conjuror (Joseph Spector, #1) by Tom Mead Death and the Conjuror by Tom Mead.
D. Date Completed: 08/05/23

3 Stars. This one did not really hold my interest. And there was a bit of a disconnect because it is set in 1936 but the descriptions of the characters and settings felt more 1880s... even with the cars.

C. The Raven Spell (Conspiracy of Magic, #1) by Luanne G. Smith by Luanne G. Smith
D. Date Completed: 11/27/2023

3.5 Stars. A bit different for this category. This is the story of 2 sisters who are witches in 1880s London and team up with a detective to solve a series of murders. This was the last of my spooky, mystical reads from October. I enjoyed it enough to continue on with the series.

B. Category: Regency England
C. Jane and the Madness of Lord Byron (Jane Austen Mysteries, #10) by Stephanie Barron

3 stars. Still one of my favorite series.

Kerri | 148 comments This was a lighter reading year for me, but met my goal with 7 books in 4 categories.
