Edit: ah, I see that I'm on the Master Gameboard twice... #23 & 28. I was never on #23 though? Unle..."
Okay, you are on 28 from everything I can ascertain, so fixed this issue! On to Theresa!

😂

Hi Kate! So happy you are joining!
You do need to complete your board before I can give you a roll! It's fine to use only 25 titles, but you need to repeat them three more times so your count goes to 100 please. I capture your board in a PDF so I know what it looked like at the beginning of play.

Perfect! Rolls are handed out after 3 pm every day.
Thank you, Kate!!

Will let you know when I am leaving-only 1/2 way through my book, so probably later in the week

Very cool!

Blame the white russians, not me!
😘 from The Caboose Master

Baggage Car will not be seeing any blankets, food, or other amenities from the Caboose! RR employee severely disciplined! Sent off to Second Class Lounge to make sure crackers are sufficiently dirty, seats hard, water tepid, and glasses dirty!
JoAnne is banned from any chaise use in the Caboose while she remains there! RachelN called dibs already. It is yours! You will find Joanne sulking in a chair by the fire.
Baggage Car is getting fresh decks of playing cards and poker chips as the number of trunks make ideal poker tables. Poker chips are redeemed as pages read while there.
Caboose Master

Yes, indeed. But careful, there are lions and tigers and bears, oh my. Not just fluffy kitties and friendly dogs. Don't want to rile them up!

I’ve heard that Winter is coming so I thought I would come back here and try and make sense of Jarndyce and Jarndyce. It may take awhile."
Indeed. We'll run the superb BBC adaptation for you from the streaming library to help you along the way.

Thanks, Anita!

***smuggles in her own bottles of gin***

@Tien, I’ve got loads of tonic to go with the gin. And I can bring a hip flask of single malt whisky to share as well…

Diane MP 6-4
KateNZ 1-6
Olivermagnus 4-4
Booknblues 4-2
Sabrina 2-1
Tien 6-4
Joy D 6-4
Daniel 6-1
Cheryl 5-1
Wow, three surprise advantages in one fell swoop.
DianeMP - Move to #44 (randomly selected) on your next move so long as it is in front of you.
Tien - Move ahead 5 spaces (to use anytime)
Joy D - Re-roll when you get a 6 or less in total. May be used once on any dice roll less than 6.
Several others of you have special rolls as well. Make sure you mark how you take them on your boards.
p.s. I posted a little early today, so will still take roll requests up through 3 pm.

Also, how do I "unbold" a book title?

Also, how do I "unbold" a book title?"
Diane, the rules states "6-4 Earn a surprise advantage to use anytime during the game" so we were given different advantages as it's random (hence the surprise). I hope that helps

Edit--shut down my machine before I un bolded-ugh sorry Thank3 Kate-LoL

To unbold a book just click ‘edit’ for your post with your book list, find the book, and delete the at the front of the bolded section and the at the end.
Then add those tags before and after the next book you want to bold instead. Remember is the command to start bold and stops bold.
Does that help?

< b > (without the spaces) to open the command < / b > (without the spaces) to close the command.
Gah!!

It's so hard to write down how to do these commands because then the system does them! But yes, after much time, I finally realized that the logic is that the first command starts a process and the second one has the / to end it.

It's so hard to write down how to do these commands because then ..."
Since you will need to strike through the book you just reviewed and need to unbold it too, I just do what Robin does.
Then you have to bold your next read.
DianeMP - I had no idea how to do any of this before joining GR. It even took me a bit to figure out adding book titles! Then one day I saw the little writing above the comment box in parenthesis mentioning html and I clicked on it and it was like angels started singing and holy light descended. What still gave me trouble for too long was inserting images and links. But you don't need those.
Think of those parenthesis as a little dictionary or instruction manual, just for you.
I learned a long time ago to look around a page and click on options to see what they give me. I don't always remember to do that though, just sticking to the real basics. I did that for a long time on GR.
