I was just thinking. I really enjoy Rummy Q. And I always have a set on me when I travel. This is actually true. Every word of it. Would anyone in the baggage car or soon to be arriving like to play?

Its my favorite..."You need to be at a spot in the 30s or above on the gameboard, but second class lounge isn't all that comfortable so you might want to make sure the books in those numbers have holds all ready to deliver before you get there.
@Joanne - Enjoy your fantasy Tom and attack cats. I think those pain meds must be making your dreams seem real. I think it is time you learned poker. You are such a troublemaker.@Amy - plenty of trunks to put to use for any card games anyone wants. I am planning on hearts myself when I finally make it out of the Caboose.
Speaking of the baggage car (where I've been napping and trying to keep from jostling my left arm ... thank you to those who helped me arrange my nest) .... I'm not a great fan of card games, but I DO love Parcheesi (or Sorry). So perhaps one of those board games could be included. Just notified that my next book (spot 21) is "in transit" to my library ... so I should have it early next week.
I've ordered a trunk in which to store the board games. It should be available at the next stop of the Subdue the Shelf Special.
Joy D wrote: "I've ordered a trunk in which to store the board games. It should be available at the next stop of the Subdue the Shelf Special."Board Games! I should have thought of those! I LOVE board games!
What about jigsaw puzzles? Would there be room in the trunk for a few jigsaw puzzles? Next shipment will include a selection of board games and jigsaw puzzles, and one of those special tables with drawers for sorting pieces.
By the time I get there it sould be wondefully cozy and the perfect place to hang out while waiting to move onwards.
You know, those hardsided carryon wheeled suitcases make excellent side tables when not on their wheeled end.
Caboose! We have 3 Clerks incoming! Make them welcome, but as clerks in training to be porters they will have a few light duties - fluffing pillows, handing out blankets, reporting on any Caboosians who are hogging the attentions of a Cabanna Boy to her/his whims and demands. I mean, we have to slow them down somewhat...Let's give JoyD, NancyJ, and Olivermagnus a hearty warm welcome since they flew through here so fast last time that they missed all the fun. 🥳🥳🥳

I think the Caboose hadn't even been attached to the train when you started - and we certainly didn't have any Cabana Boys yet. Enjoy and stay awhile.
Good News Baggage Car! Have just confirmed that expedited delivery of the next shipment is arriving on Monday! Included:
More cases of wine (that recent influx is thirsty - shocking given they came from the Caboose!)
Refills of the vending machines - more chocolates and salty options.
Board games - Parchessi, Sorry, Life, Clue, Monopoly, a backgammon/chess boxed set. Any other request will have to wait the next delivery.
Jigsaw table and puzzles -- starting with 2 book themed 1000 piece puzzles -- Nancy Drew book covers and Edward Gorey book covers.
I'm also told that the new pets in carriers arriving are all Puppies enroute to the Hallmark Channel Puppy Bowl. Amy - they should make up for that gnarly cat! (It's owner was fined -- the new cases of wine are from the gnarly cat).

Of course there's room! This is actually a magical trunk...shhh...don't tell... but it it a bottomless trunk. Any game or puzzle you should wish will magically appear.
No worries on missing out on the fun - I've been reading this thread all along. :-)

Ooooh ..... Mad Eye Moody's trunk from Goblet of Fire? Or just a trunk version Hermione's evening purse in Deathly Hallows?
So exciting!
All these new stuff coming into Baggage has Tom getting frazzled, we will need another cabana here to handle the overflow!
Joanne wrote: "All these new stuff coming into Baggage has Tom getting frazzled, we will need another cabana here to handle the overflow!"Joanne - your 'Tom' is useless. He's live action CGI - no more useful than a hologram. Your wine glass is being refilled by Amy because she is sweet and kind and you read a book in her honor.
I am just smiling at you Theresa, I know work has stressed you out lately so I am going to just let it go....you need to unwind on the chaise with a scotch!

I'll go for the chocolate, and for board games, is anyone up for a game of Settlers of Catan or Carcassonne? (It seems we can get our hands on any game via the magical trunk!)
Oliver/Lynda ~ I am ordering the strawberry vodka just for you. Sending it to the caboose. I’m sure you’ll be passing me by in the baggage car pretty soon. I just wanted to tell you that I really enjoyed both the maid and the cartographers. I’m glad you’re gonna be getting to both this year.

I'm just such a sucker for this type of game.
Oliver-I saw The Executioner's Song and American Assassin on your list. I hope you get to both of them. I have wanted to read the first one for quite a while and look forward to your review, and I love Vince Flynn and this one is one of my favorites!
Tom is not useless to me! Tom has soft eyes and that incredible Dutch House voice. He is eye and ear candy for sure, and a great conversationalist! A distraction from reading for sure!I will always and forever fill Joanne's glass. It's just how we roll. L'Chaim. Order the limeade for that strawberry vodka. Tom can unpack it and we can watch him. And keep that Damn Cat away from him. Can I vote we throw it off the train? Aack - Cindy. Shoot, I am sorry. Can we let it out at the next stop?

Or just give it to Cindy to take car of!
As a life-long cat person, I'm happy to have Gnarly join me on my chaise lounge in the Caboose. My cats have all been avid readers. And yes, as the only one to participate in the dance-off, I am now fully ensconced in the chaise lounge.
If there are jigsaw puzzles, I just may have to stay in whatever car they are in. Absolutely one of my favorite things to do. I am actually the proud owner of over 100 Charles Wysocki puzzles and will gladly share with those in the car with me.

I would love to take care of kitty! And maybe socialize him so he's better with people! <3 :-)
Creepy CGI Tom can stay with Joanne in the baggage car :-). I can't stand the CGI in that movie and have only made it through about 5 minutes of watching it. My dog and cat insist on being allowed to accompany me wherever I go in the train. I usually read before bed and they both snuggle up with me. Last night I was doing something else and they both started causing animal havoc until I sat with them to read at which point they both innocently snuggled up and fell asleep. My dog will lick any of you who pay her the slightest attention and the cat will insert herself between your eyes and your book whenever she wants pets, otherwise she will be a big snoozy lump for the ride.
I'm ready for another roll I disliked my current book so much I pushed through it and didn't think to ask for this halfway through.
Anita, I thought you wanted roll requests in bold, or maybe just for your posts?
@Robin, I believe that Anita wants her roll comments in bold. The reasoning being it is easier for her and the players to find them easier. I could be wrong here, would not be the first (or last time) 😉
Thanks for clarifying, I put my font back to regular.I thought it was for your benefit since this thread has ended up to include a detailed travelogue!

I love your thinking. So considerate! But mostly, I just want the rolls themselves to stand out for all of you and Joanne. And also the request list so you can see if I've missed anyone by mistake!
