I started reading some of Colleen Hoover's 'Maybe Not' which was absolutely dreadful. The fact that it's written to be a romance is deplorable considering it's basically a rape fantasy.
Penelope Douglas was an immediate thought after learning about Credence and watching Newly Nova's (hilarious) video essay on it. Find it here:https://youtu.be/uJgwLYKRQTs?si=kMtgU...
And lastly, I work in a library. Which means I have to look at shelves upon shelves of James Patterson books everyday and it's enough to drive you mad.

I think that even the best authors can sometimes have an off book, and some of my favorite books of all time are written by authors who have produced some of my most disliked books as well.

Also Colleen Hoovers books. I don’t get the hype of them.

Why Clare, pal?"
Oh, her writing style isn't of my liking. That and she have problematic behaviors, but mainly the writing thing

I’m not into thrillers so Steven King is a no for me.

Jenny Han- I'm young, but her writing style is just too simple and childish to me

I haven't read any of her books yet but am planning on reading Happy Place soon. What makes you dislike her? (Just curious, 'cause so many seem to enjoy her :-))

YES! So glad to find out I'm not the only one thinking this

As you shouldn’t. Imade the mistake of reading it, and it’s a week of my life that I will never get back. Everything is this book is wrong, it promotes non-con, and the stalker trope is just *retches*

*gasps* why SJM?

Six of Crows is pretty good though...

omg that's so interesting, I actually loved that Alina and Mal ended up together lol

I agree. Anything in the horror genre scares me. 😂

I hated it…
I just got too many insta love group feelings and I wasn’t actually that interested in the plot because everyone felt one dimensional and we already made it clear that Kaz is like super smart and can do anything so the heist is obviously going to succeed sooner or later in the book so I just dnfed
