Eli Colleen hoover. I mean the only book of hers im gonna be reading is *Reminders Of Him* simply because I was dumb and bought the book like a year ago and now I dont wanna put it to waste. I really dont wanna read it and im prolly gonna give it to my big sis😭

Alex*:・゚✧*:・゚ | 6 comments Penelope Douglas, Colleen Hoover and James Patterson.

I started reading some of Colleen Hoover's 'Maybe Not' which was absolutely dreadful. The fact that it's written to be a romance is deplorable considering it's basically a rape fantasy.

Penelope Douglas was an immediate thought after learning about Credence and watching Newly Nova's (hilarious) video essay on it. Find it here:https://youtu.be/uJgwLYKRQTs?si=kMtgU...

And lastly, I work in a library. Which means I have to look at shelves upon shelves of James Patterson books everyday and it's enough to drive you mad.

Cozy Taurus (cozy_taurus) | 16 comments So far, there isn't an author whose books I avoid. Rather, I try to avoid books that romanticize stalking, rape, and that are basically porn.

I think that even the best authors can sometimes have an off book, and some of my favorite books of all time are written by authors who have produced some of my most disliked books as well.

caroline | 13 comments any book that’s porn on paper. lately SJM and CoHo as well: SJM bc I tried a few of her books and just couldn’t dive in, CoHo bc of all the controversy and stuff, I bought Verity before I found out and tried reading it but didn’t expect the amount of romance

message 107: by Skelly (new)

Skelly | 23 comments Sophie McKenzie. The first ‘Missing’ book was good. Then the others were just rubbish and I was annoyed at myself for even buying them and waiting money.

Also Colleen Hoovers books. I don’t get the hype of them.

I haven't read any of her books yet but am planning on reading Happy Place soon. What makes you dislike her? (Just curious, 'cause so many seem to enjoy her :-))

message 125: by Meg (new)

Meg (meaganilsley) Cassandra Clare. Originally, I gave her a chance but I cannot stand her style of writing or storytelling, it just frustrates me to no end. Also, E.L. James. Again, I tried, I really did, but I just could not get on board with her storytelling.

As you shouldn’t. Imade the mistake of reading it, and it’s a week of my life that I will never get back. Everything is this book is wrong, it promotes non-con, and the stalker trope is just *retches*

message 133: by Mrs Eaton (new)

Mrs Eaton no offense to anyone who likes her but it's definitely Colleen Hoover for me.. I didn't even have to read the actual books to dislike them, the detailed wiki summaries were enough to keep me away

Pierce Samuel ✞︎ (pierces_melted_wings) Colleen Hoover (I AM NOT a smut guy), SJM (I will only pirate her books/and or by from 2nd hand sellers, I am NOT giving my money to her, as she is a Zionist), and JKR (Transphobic and Antisemetic) 🥰

message 136: by Alice (new)

Alice Carroll Colleen Hoover and Leigh Bardugo, sorry but I swear Leigh Bardugo and I have beef—I actually bought the entire shadow and bone trilogy and when Alina ended up with Mal I threw the book out the door—actually. So that’s some history, CoHo needs no further ellaboration.

I hated it…
I just got too many insta love group feelings and I wasn’t actually that interested in the plot because everyone felt one dimensional and we already made it clear that Kaz is like super smart and can do anything so the heist is obviously going to succeed sooner or later in the book so I just dnfed
