Alongside the group's monthly reads of the award winners, we also have a Monthly Additional Nominee Reads.

Group members will vote on each the awards category nominees (minus the winner of course!) throughout the year to decide which runner up will be the additional group read.

The poll voting is always scheduled so members will have approximately a month's notice before the read is scheduled to start.

The schedule can be found on the group calendar

Links to the polls will be posted below (and sent as a group message).
Results will be posted below and the group calendar will be updated.

Once a category poll is closed we will then open up discussion for the rest of the nominee books to set up buddy reads for any members interested.

Thereadingbell | 311 comments Just curious why you put Stephen King's Button Box on the list when the winner was Gwendy's Final Task in horror selection unless we would have read all three books.

Honestly not quite sure what's going on. I definitely put Stephen King's book on there, and I've just gone to double check by editing the poll and it says Stephen King's Button Box when I'm in the edit mode. But when I'm looking at the front end it says Final Task.

I am perplexed!

Ok, I went in and deleted that entry and re-entered Stephen King. It's now showing correctly.

I'm curious to see what people think of Madly, Deeply. I love Alan Rickman and got the book, but returned it. It is just like if someone photocopied his diary with all the boring "I got up and had coffee" details. I also thought that any interesting parts would feel intrusive to me. He didn't publish these and I wouldn't want my personal thoughts published. I didn't end up reading it, but I'm curious if my first impressions were at all accurate.

My thoughts exactly Kristie and I too returned it (audible), I was actually quite angry about it.

Same! I was really looking forward to it. So disappointing.

Jane Fudger Kristie
The book title was taken from a TV drama in the UK where Rickman appeared as a ghost to his life time partnerAn excellentand waard winning production
Having seen Rickman on stage a few times Iwas really looking forward to reading the book but like you I found it bland and dissapointing. It seems to me it was produced as a "money spinner" rather then a credible story

It was a TV drama in the UK? I thought it was a cinema released film.

Regardless, I loved that film / tv drama / whatever it was :)

Edit - Yeah, it was a film. Truly, Madly, Deeply: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103129/
