A book with five words in the title. (If I had planned this better, this would be item #5 on the list, but alas, it is only now occurring to me ...)

This is a nice "mid-range" challenge, because I have lots of books with 2, 3, 4, and 6 words in the titles, but not as many with 5 words. I'm counting "The" and "A/An" but you don't have to.

A few years ago, I was really enjoying the slightly silly mystery series by the very under-rated Sophie Littlefield, so I think I will pick that one up again with A Bad Day for Mercy.

Ron | 2708 comments A couple of others that fit in with my Indigenous authors/themes:

As We Have Always Done: Indigenous Freedom through Radical Resistance
(for this one I'm counting just the main title 'As We Have Always Done'. So many of my books contain subtitles).

Empire of the Summer Moon: Quanah Parker and the Rise and Fall of the Comanches, the Most Powerful Indian Tribe in American History

Cornerofmadness | 805 comments Not really the one I planned to read (nor it is particularly good) but Murder at the Puppy Fest by Laurien Berenson fits the bill.

I wasn't planning on this one and I already had it set for the banned book prompt in the main challenge but I saw that it could fit here too which is cool.

LeahS | 491 comments I was idling in the library, not really looking for anything, when I found On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous and Our Lady of the Nile side by side in the new book section (new to that library, that is). I used On Earth for PopSugar, so I read the Scholastique Mukasonga book for this.

It is set in a school for upper class girls in Rwanda, fifteen years prior to the genocide. The girls are mainly Hutu, with a quota for Tutsis. It has echoes of other school stories like The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie and Frost in May, but deals with the effects of colonialism and also with internal and external racism. Quite a grim ending foreshadowing what is to come.

Quite often the author uses narrative to describe events rather than the events as they happen, which I thought was a bit clunky, but it is a very interesting, if sad, book.

It would also work for PopSugar 'A book with two languages' and for ATY, 'book with a body of water in title', , the Spice Girls prompt, 'dark book',' book with a con etc., book with a tropical setting.

Other five letter titles I've enjoyed:
The Mill on the Floss; Far From the Madding Crowd; Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine.

Ooooh nice! I really want to read that, and it didn't even occur to me that it's five words!
