The Color of Magic by Terry Pratchett 4 stars

The first book in the Discworld series. I've read most of the Discworld books but I read them totally out of order so I'm starting from the beginning in order this time. The book begins in Ankh-Morpork with Rincewind, the sort of wizard who only knows one spell but it's a biggie, and Twoflower, the first tourist in Discworld. I had forgotten that the book is really more like four short, connected stories. After Ankh-Morpork there's a story about the gods mixing in human affairs, then we move onto dragons and finally move onto Krull on the edge of the disc. The book ends with a literal cliff hanger so I'm moving onto the second book right away. I love Pratchett's sense of humor. The books get better as Pratchett gets more of a grip on the Discworld but it amazes me how he came up with everything in this book. This book also introduces one of my favorite characters, The Luggage, who totally steals any scene it is in. I look forward to continuing my re-read of the series and I highly recommend this series if you like humorous fantasy.
