This is the 23rd book on my TBR: If You Could Be Mine. I remember absolutely nothing about this book. Purposely not looking it up so I can be surprised.
I have been giving myself this prompt for the last two years.2021-21st book on my TBR in January (first month) - A Swiftly Tilting Planet
2022-22nd book on my TBR in the second month - White Oleander
The current 23 book is When We Were Vikings
The 23rd book on my want to read is Voyage of the Dawn Treader. So that’s something short to knock off.
The 23rd book on my TBR is either The Afterward (alphabetically) or Flesh and Spirit (by date added).
I'm a mood reader so having TBR's is normally something I don't do.However, I'm doing my pre-planning out my book challenges so I suppose I could go with the 23rd book on my TBR carts.

Okay so I picked the 23rd book on my EFS shelf and this is what came up: Still Mad: American Women Writers and the Feminist Imagination

The 23rd book on my TBR is A Game of Thrones. It's also one of the longest on my list, so will be using for the regular challenge as well.
In the spirit of this being a super laid back challenge, I declare my list of books read this year to be the list that I am using. My 23rd book was Scarlet by Genevieve Cogman.
Okay well I didn't end up reading the one I said I would so I went with the 23rd book on my current TBR which is: The Heartbeat of Wounded Knee (Young Readers Adaptation): Life in Native America .I probably won't read this one until April since I'm doing my female authors only thing this month.

LOL that's clever!!!
LOL that's clever!!!
I found The Ballad of Black Tom by Victor LaValle on a list of modern horror standing there in the 23rd spot. It's one of those Lovecraftian stories by an author from the oh so many maligned by Lovecraft. I'm enjoying that so many are stepping up and taking his interesting ideas and exploring them. This was very good.

I know I read that, but now, a few years later, all I remember is that there was a basement. The color red may have also played a role, or perhaps that was another story.
Maybe you have to already be a Lovecraft fan to "get it"? Because I didn't get it.

I had this one on my list: The Heartbeat of Wounded Knee (Young Readers Adaptation): Life in Native America . I'm hoping to read it by April, but I'll see. It all depends on my reading list for that month, though this one is certainly on there.
23rd on my library wish list was A Letter to Three Witches. It was okay. The premise sounded way more fun than what I actually read.
I put '23' into my local library catalogue and then looked up the 23rd book on that list. I came up with a lucky find:Rewild Yourself: 23 Spellbinding Ways to Make Nature More Visible by Simon Barnes.
It was a book of gentle advice on how to connect with nature in simple ways from sitting still to listening, to looking for dung ! I liked the quotes from the Narnia series, Harry Potter and Tolkien at the start of each chapter. A good book for a young teenager who is interested in birds and animals.

Oh that's clever!!! I decided to try it myself. The 23rd title on the list when I searched my library for "23" was:
Turbo Twenty-Three
Fitting.
(And I have not read that yet, either!)

I went based on my TBR cart. Placed twenty-three numbers in a cup and drew a number from there. The book that I ended up with was:Oh man perfect.
The Lost Journals of Sacajewea
(granted this one won't be released until later this month, but I added it to my TBR list anyways since I already pre-ordered it. And with 3 books on the way I gave it the number 3. Out of 23 numbers, that's the one I drew.)
Did I make this a bit more complicated then it should be? Probably.

I don't think this one will work to create a Listopia, but you COULD go to one of our many other Listopias and pick the 23rd book!!
