Cool task! I went with the animal `tiger` so for option 3, I was thinking of the book Time Is a Mother - the author writes about his own experience so he's the character? One of the adjectives for tiger is brave, so would it work?

The blurb describes it as:

My take is that she is accepted for a competitive program, even though she never applied; so it seems she is competitive.
