Welcome to the Bingo 2023 version challenge. Have a great year of reading. I am so glad that it is one of your favorite challenges.
You've got a lot of good ones on your list, Matt! Enjoy a wonderful year of reading and good luck on your Bingo Challenge 2023 :)
Hope next year is a great reading year and makes up for this one being a little slow. Always a joy to follow your reads.
I love your planning, Matt. You have some of my favorites here: The Once and Future King, East of Eden, The Godfather, Doctor Zhivago ... and of course some very interesting ones I've never heard of. I'm looking forward to following your challenge--enjoy!
Good luck on your Bingo Matt! You've got some fantastic choices! I may even steal your idea for Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy as it's been languishing on my shelf for years.
You have so many excellent choices so far, Matt. East of Eden, Angle of Repose, Doctor Zhivago, Stoner, Chess Story and Brideshead Revisited are all in my top favorites. I wish your list was mine! Too bad I have so many unread ones to get to.
Great choices, Matt! You have a wonderful selection of books which should put you back into the swing of your reading life.
Your BINGO is very impressive. I hope my The Death of Ivan Ilyich lives up to it. I commented in my review the time during which I read it. It was very meaningful. :-)I'm also reading The Annotated Alice: The Definitive Edition for my O1: Book Published before 1900

You have so many great books on your bingo card, Matt. I have read several of them and want to read others you've listed. I have to join Klowey and Greg and say that The Death of Ivan Ilych is one of my favorite books as well (I've read it twice!). Wishing you a lot of enjoyable time reading.
I read The Godfather last year and surprisingly really liked it! I gave it 5 guilty pleasure stars not literary ones! I thought it followed the movie so well. And then if you can find the series on Paramount + (I think that's where it's at) called The Offer, it's about the making of the movie and I highly recommend it. SO good! Not a documentary.
Matt you are an ambitious reader! The whole of Complete works as just one selection here. Impressive.
Matt wrote: "This has been a great reading year so far. Looking forward to a lot more reading!"That's terrific to hear -- well done!
Congrats on finishing the reading challenge! Sounds like you're making good progress on these too, Matt. I'll be starting Angle of Repose soon--hope you're enjoying it.
You are, indeed, having a great reading year, Matt. I'm excited to know what you think of Angle of Repose!
I am disappointed that you didn't love Angle of Repose, but it clicked off a bingo square at least.
It is often where we are and what we are bringing to the table at the moment that make a book sing or flop, Matt. I must have been in just the right spot when I read it.
Hey I read the Godfather this year too! I got tired of wondering about references I read. But you really liked it. Are you planning to continue with the series?
Always nice to have a plan, Matt. Congrats on the Bingo. Did you enjoy The President's Lady? I remember loving it, but being quite young and "romantic" at the time.
Looking good Matt! I'm going to remember Peter Pan as an option to nominate for our New Reads. I want to revisit the classocs of my childhood as comfort reads.
Well done! I hope you enjoyed Doctor Zhivago. I remember really liking that one, although of course taste is personal.
That's terrific -- it's always great to find a new 5-star read! I've never seen a film version either. I hope you enjoy it!
congratulations on your 3rd BINGO, Matt. With only two more books you'll have 3 more!I wanted to get to Watership Down this year, but may have to push it to 2024. I'm so glad to see you loved Dr. Zhivago. I loved it as well and also watched the film shortly after. The film was wonderful too.
Only 8 books to go is a very good place to be at the first of September. You'll have a Blackout, no problem. : )
Matt you are doing great with your challenges! If you decide to read Peter Pan and want to read with others, I would be interested in a buddy read.
Glad to see you're getting bingo use out of that extremely impressive Shakespeare challenge, Matt! Such a good year of reading so far--I'm looking forward to Light in August.
I can't believe how ambitious your "reader's choice" is! But it sounds like you're on schedule to finish it in time. Amazing!

I hated that book! But I would definitely have suffered through it for a Bingo! Good job, Matt. You're almost to the finish line! ;)
