Please help me with my unsuccessful merge

I tried to merge two copies of the same book
Operation: Camouflage Christmas. I was able to remove the 2nd one but they didn't merge. I would like to merge the one with a 5.0 rating into the 4.8 rating edition. And, keep the ratings, added to shelf, want to read, and reviews for both. Could you please help me with this? I really appreciate your help. Thanks
