Hello everybody.
I’m looking for a book that is about a protagonist that is an anti hero like, that runs from a city on fire at the very begining and hesitate to save a girl. I think he doesn’t know how he end up in this situation and has a rather pessimistic point of view about life.

I may not remember it correctly but does it rings a bell to any of you ?

If the genre is fantasy, it could be The Colour of Magic
First book in the Discworld series, starts with Rincewind fleeing the burning city of Ankh-Morpork. Rincewind is definitely an anti-hero, and is always more interested in saving his own skin than rescuing damsels.

Thanks for the suggestion, I don’t remember much but this scene unfortunately.
It’s a fantasy book, I was just starting the book but Lost it and could not finish it :D
