Michelle | 386 comments The instructions for adding an ACE need corrections.

https://help.goodreads.com/s/article/...

It currently says: "Next to the Add a New Edition link, we have added an option to Add an Alternate Cover Edition."

(And that "Add a new edition" link is on list of various editions page.)

Rather than finding the ACE link next to "Add a new edition," it is instead found on the INDIVIDUAL BOOK page, AFTER CLICKING the three dots found next to "Edit book details." Unless someone clicks the dots, they won't find the ACE option.
(I initially overlooked clicking the dots because I was just using the Edit book details link, so my eyes had stopped looking.)

Separately... I love that GR added those three dots that give easier access to: Add a new edition, Add an alternate cover edition, and combine editions. It seems easier and less clicking. :-)

Both are on the the individual book page and have been for as long as I can remember.

☕ Lachgas ♿ (lachgas) | 9386 comments the 3 dots are actually more clicking as it's an extra click on these dots than just on "add alternate cover edition" directly on the individual book page like in the past.

Yes, it seems the new book page hides things we regularly use so as to make more space for those huge covers. And then it doesn't show some of the things we *do* need, like the ASIN, Edition information and correct dates - original pub dates when a month or day is blank and dates of awards continue to be incorrect.

It's also not possible - at least not that I can see - to "See Review". Yes, you can expand, but there is no way to go to a person's review page other than by going to their book page, finding the book, and then clicking to View.

You can click on the date of a review on the book page and that will lead you to the review page.

Excellent! Thank you. I had not discovered that.

I either found it out by accident (moving my mouse over the date turned it into a link), or somebody told me. I don't remember which :-)

Not being able to see the ASIN (or if there is any at all) on kindle/audible editions is really annoying to work with. making an ACE on request is now so much more clicking "going to the record, not seeing the ASIN is the one asked for, edit record to just check the ASIN, going back again, 3 dots, create ACE, clicking "yes want to move" until you finally can just create the ACE.

And as my eyes are not the best I used the enlarged cover quite often in the past - actually although everything wastes so much more space now that it isn't possible to enlarge the cover with a click anymore on the book page is super! annoying. I constantly have to go into the record to see the largest size there. (that is larger than on the record)

If I'd be only a user I'd have left because there were too many covers I couldn't even read the author properly without enlarging it in the record.

or their mouses.

Are there adds for Logitech mouses a lot now? Would look like a good target group.

Scott | 8605 comments The only good thing about the new page is the larger covers (but why the curved corners on one side?? Who knows??) but I keep wanting to click to enlarge it further and it's frustrating to not be able to do that.

Elizabeth (Alaska) I miss not being able to mouse over the top 5 editions on the book page to at least see the ISBN/ASIN without having to go to the other editions page to see this information.

But here we are again, grousing about site functionality.

This is the link to give feedback on the new book page. I use it sparingly, but it *is* a direct link.
