Goodreads Quotations of Books

Hello, I notice that when I search keywords under Quotes within Community tab, a lot of book quotes come up from famous titles and authors, and also from unknown authors too. Can you explain how this works for authors who want to put quotations from their own books under keywords? I see lots of Likes on some of the quotations. How do authors who add quotations from their books get Likes? I do understand that we add the quotations on our Profile page.

This is interesting to me because I've actually purchased books from the quotations I've read, so it does seem like a way to get book exposure for authors. Can you explain more about how Goodreads Quotations work?

You can add tags to your quotes when you are adding them from the add a quote page. There is no rhyme or reason to how many users like a quote, though more popular books will probably have more. For more information, you can try asking in Goodreads Help
