Sci Fi series. Humanity has spread out onto many planets and has Robot Helpers (who want to inhabit all human worlds). Very small group of humans don't want robots. Read around mid-late 1980s?

And human inhabited worlds like the robots, who are incredible servants, and much wanted by most of humanity. There is a very small group of humans who do not want everything to be done for them, though...

This group wants to live without the help of robots. The robots want to spread to all of the worlds that humans live on, and in their programming, they are allowed to lie and deceive humans. So they lie about their true aims, they come into a planet and they basically take over everything, make every decision, for the good of the humans living there, of course.

I think this small group of humans are being hunted by the robots, and I seem to remember that this group of humans are able to travel between worlds somehow..
