I read Perks last month, but don't worry I won't post any spoilers yet :-POne thing that I always wondered though, is who is Charlie actually writing all these letters too? Does anybody have any ideas? Or have I been obtuse and missed something?
Holy crow!! I just finished the book and it's awesome!Christina I was wondering that to, then I came to a part before the epilogue that said he heard them talking about Michael after his suicide and he thought they sounded nice. He then decided to write to them. It doesn't give any more info so I don't know if I missed it or what. When I look back at the first letter he wrote, he's saying she said your a good listener and don't sleep around. Either someone else will figure it out or I will have to force my brain cells to think :-)
I always realised that there was something a little bit sinister going on but I didn't figure out what it was. I can only begin to imagine how much it must have screwed Charlie up in those last few chapters. As a book though it took me a while to get into it. At first I was a bit bored and when Charlie describes masturbation I couldn't help but giggle. Now that I've read it though I think it's a very good coming of age novel, perfectly documenting the navigation through high school faced by either the wallflowers or those with friends several years older.

Savannah does that work on the mobile app too? Haven't tried any of this editing malarky on there as usually do all my reviews ect on the main desktop website.
How did you do that spoiler thing Sia? It hides it. Never mind. I would probably have to get on lap top to do it and I'm always too stressed. I will wait until everyone is done.

This is one of my favorite books!I can truly relate to Charlie and what he felt . I also lost a friend some years ago, and it triggered difficult changes in me.
This is one of those stories that make us realize that we're not alone in our loneliness.
I really enjoyed this book! It was a great break from all the fantasy books I've been reading lately. I actually managed to read the entire thing in one night!I'm curious who Charlie was writing to as well. I've been wondering if it might have been a teacher, though I suppose it would be odd to tell a teacher they don't seem like someone who would sleep around. ;)
I thought the ending was unexpected. No spoilers here, promise! I just was really surprised by it and am curious how many people guessed it before it happened.
