had a reading slump in 2020/2021 and picked up skulduggery pleasant for the first time and I’ve read all fifteen books and own every single book set in that universe XD

But, just last year I started reading a lot again. Haunting Adeline was the book that got me huge into reading again.

In my 30s, I picked up a copy of Shanghai Girls by Lisa See at a second hand bookstore. I couldn't put it down! It opened my world and gave me a new found love of Chinese history, culture, traditions and lore. I have now read See's entire catalog, met her at a book signing and and wishing daily she announces another book!
It was also the book that showed me I LOVEEEEEE historical fiction. Specifically stories that open me to non-American cultures.
