Hi Lauren - I don't think it does. The trope is more about a heroine who is not a beautiful, alluring debutant - who is generally overlooked on the marriage mart for various reasons (she may be a bluestocking, a wallflower, too old, shy, reclusive). However there may be a book with an abandoned wife who meets the brief.

Hi Lauren. From memory, I think it can. It is a good series - I have the first book in the series 5 stars (and the next two 4 stars each). I don't often give 5 stars.
