I saw this book in 2018-2019 or maybe early 2020, but probably the book was published a little bit earlier. It is published in English, and it might or might not be part of a series that includes at the very least 2 or 3 books (if it is part of a series, it's likely the first book). As far as I remember, the book (and maybe series) is not "alien abduction romance".

I think I found the book I'm looking for. It's The Taking, the first book from Kimberly Derting's book series of the same name, and the book series has three books in total.
