I liked it a lot more than I actually thought that I would, despite not liking the components that it's made of. LOL (That makes no sense... I know.) It was a good story though, I thought.

Not sure how it compares to the movie, because I don't remember much about the movie. I plan on watching it again tonight or tomorrow.

I think I at least sort of get what you mean. When I read the summary just now, I wasn't sure how interested I was. That being said, I think it is a classic, and it might be interesting to try. What did you like about it?

LOL Yeah. I don't like reading about random chaos and stuff, so I definitely thought I wouldn't care for it. But I ended up really liking the characters and the nature of the conflict, and the way that McMurphy's influence affected the ward in both positive and negative ways... I really enjoyed the writing, especially the narrative style and the narrator. He was my favorite character.

I've been in a bit of a reading slump. It hasn't been helped by my husband. Almost every time I sit down to read he's asking me to do something because "you aren't doing anything but sitting there." WTF? Really? I could have sworn I was reading.

I sort of inadvertantly 'befriended' a woman who takes the same train in as me. (One day the train was cancelled, so she decided to drive in, and she offered me a ride since we also get off at the same stop. I took her up on her offer, and now we're "friends". Anyway... )

She's a talker. She used to sit with this other woman, but she recently retired... so now she sits near me and talks.

And talks.

And talks...

I feel rude saying, "Look, lady, I just want to read my book!" But I have sort of been trying to give her the hint...

Somedays it works better than others.

My thing is I don't mind chatting with her while we're waiting for the train. But once we get on the train it's "me time".

It seems I've been gone awhile. I have not read anything not work related since whenever my "Currently Reading" says I last read.

I'm currently on a long term subbing assignment for the rest of the school year. Teachers are not given a "time for reading" period, not even Language Arts teachers which is what I am right now.

This experience has inspired me to look into returning to school, however, in order to finish my degree and a teaching certificate. I'm leaning towards English Language Arts and Reading, but I wouldn't mind math either (which is something I never thought I would say.) My biggest (and really only) hurdle is funds. I don't qualify for grants, and I'm not sure I can handle taking on a student loan.

On the plus side, Spring Break is right around the corner, so hopefully I'll be able to squeeze in a book.
